Location: Butner, NC

Position Type: Full-Time (1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week), Fixed-Term Faculty Appointment

The UNC Department of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry is seeking a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to provide inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care for children, adolescents, and young adults. This faculty position will be based at UNC’s new Child & Adolescent Psychiatry facility in Butner, NC, with opportunities to work on either the adolescent inpatient unit or the young adult unit.

This is a full-time (1.0 FTE/40-hour per week) position with a minimum of 50% inpatient clinical responsibilities and the opportunity for up to 100% inpatient practice. Outpatient responsibilities may include both in-person and virtual care. Faculty will also participate in the education and supervision of fellows, residents, medical students, and other healthcare trainees.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree required
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Eligible for North Carolina medical licensure

Preferred Experience

  • Clinical experience treating children, adolescents, and young adults
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, fellows, and interdisciplinary healthcare trainees
