A day in the life

You then meet with the Director of Engineering to discuss product roadmap and resource allocation. Mid-morning, you collaborate with product marketing and business development on go-to-market strategies. After lunch, you have blocked off a couple hours to analyze product usage data to confirm/disconfirm one of your hypotheses and work on the PR/FAQ for the feature. Your day ends with preparation for a strategy meeting with our VP on how we grow the business, then you trot off to happy hour with some of your PM colleagues.

  • Owns and drives product feature delivery from concept through launch, ensuring alignment with platform strategy and business objectives.

  • Contributes to product vision, roadmap planning, and working-backwards artifacts for assigned initiatives.

  • Partners with business and engineering teams to define requirements, prioritize enhancements, and deliver customer value.

  • Identifies opportunities to enhance platform capabilities and recommends solutions based on customer needs, market trends, and platform strategy.

  • Supports release planning by defining feature goals, managing priorities, and balancing business value with technical feasibility.

  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders and customer-facing teams to collect, prioritize, and address customer feedback and feature-level issues.

  • Defines and tracks key product and operational metrics to measure feature adoption, performance, and business outcomes.

  • Facilitates cross-functional discussions to gather requirements, align stakeholders, and drive continuous product improvement.

  • Reviews feature demonstrations and validates delivery against acceptance criteria and intended business outcomes.

  • Supports product launches, monitors post-release health, and drives actions to improve adoption, customer experience, and operational performance.

  • Builds strong relationships across Product, Engineering, Operations, and Business teams to influence outcomes and drive alignment.

  • Experience delivering cloud-native products, platforms, APIs, or digital experiences at scale.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to prioritization and decision-making.

  • Ability to evaluate trade-offs across customer experience, business outcomes, technical complexity, and operational considerations.

  • Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, or similar methodologies).

  • Effective communicator who can influence peers and stakeholders through clear, concise, and compelling communication.

  • Skilled at translating business requirements into actionable product requirements and clearly documented acceptance criteria.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build partnerships and drive consensus across cross-functional teams.

  • Passion for continuous improvement and delivering measurable customer and business value.

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, information technology, business, or a related discipline preferred, or equivalent practical experience.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
