Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

  • Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
  • Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
  • Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
  • Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self-management.

The Registered Nurse demonstrates advanced knowledge, skills and understands the unique aspects of the population served in the care of his/her patients. Each service also requires specialized skills. The delivery of care is based on the physical, psychosocial, cultural, safetyand learning needs of the individual patient. The Registered Nurse may rotate to areas other than his/her assigned service area/s, andwill perform only those duties for which he/she hasdemonstratedcompetency. The Registered Nurse performs delegated duties consistent with the scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery at RMC/Sloan's Lake FSED. 

What qualifications you will need:
  • Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Current NRP certification through AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) and ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) required within 6months of hire date. (Note: ENPC is only required for initial certification time and is not required for renewal)
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. BSN preferred 
  • Two or more years of Emergency Room Registered Nurse experience

What you will do in this role: 



  • You will be delivering patient care to BMT and immunocompromised patients based on the physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety and learning needs of the individual. 
  • You will perform and oversee care of patients with critical illness or injury utilizing the nursing process.  
  • You will be demonstrating your advanced knowledge, skills and understanding of all aspects of the population served in the care of your patients. 
  • You will be providing safe and appropriate care within our Values and Standards of Nursing Practice. 

What qualifications you will need:

  • Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license.
  • BLS – Healthcare provider and ACLS required. 
  • NIHSS certification within 90 days. 
  • ONS Chemotherapy Provider Card required within 90 days.

This position supports the mission of Presbyterian/St Luke’s Medical Center of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. The Obstetric RN oversees and directs the care of pregnant women and their families. The Obstetric RN is responsible for the care of pregnant patients and their families in antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods. Obstetric patients include low-risk labor and deliveries, surgical patients (cesarean sections, IUFTs, cerclages, and BBTL), and high-risk antepartum and surgical patients including placenta accreta spectrum patients. We also care for those patients who have suffered the loss of a fetus or baby as well as postpartum patients requiring a higher level of care. PSL L&D works closely with our Level IV NICU unit. Patients from our local patient population as well as transports from other hospitals within Colorado and surrounding states. Dedicated 24 hour OB and anesthesia coverage as well as a 24 hour PNNP (Perinatal Nurse Practitioner). Oversees and directs the care of assistive personnel, maintaining final accountability for the care given to assigned patients. When the need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Type of equipment: Phillips fetal monitors, EKG monitors, Central Lines, Baxter IV fluid pumps.

II. Position Requirements:

    Job Summary and Qualifications

    The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care per the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty.     Job Summary and Qualifications 

    The Registered Nurse demonstrates knowledge and skills in the care of patients. Each service also requires specialized skills.
