  • Follows organizational policy and procedure in the administration of all medications during dialysis, including as-needed (PRN) medications, blood and blood products, and erythropoiesis-stimulating agents (ESAs).
  • Ensures patients are transported in a timely manner to and from dialysis treatments to minimize delays in care and maintain treatment schedules. Nurses should transport patients themselves when necessary to prevent delays in care or to ensure timely discharge.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of an individualized plan of care for each patient.
  • Verifies the safety of each dialysis treatment by performing and documenting required equipment safety checks, including acid and bicarb expiration dates and chlorine/chloramine testing before every treatment and Minncare residual testing as needed.
  • Responsible for accurately entering charges for each patient they provide care for, ensuring timely and complete documentation of billable services in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Manages time so that workflow is efficient and consistent.

Full Job Description - Dental Assistant Instructor - Part Time - Saturdays Only

Opportunity to teach your passion!

Indigo Institute is looking for a lead instructor to teach our Dental Assisting program. Indigo is unique in that we teach out of dental offices so we can prepare them for real world settings. This is an amazing side hustle opportunity - only instructing on Saturdays!

Qualifications:

Active RDA license or higher, with Coronal Polishing

2 years clinical dental experience

Pay:

$288/week

$3,456 per cohort

$36/hour

Class location:

Class is on Saturday and will go for 12 weeks. Class hours 8am-4pm.

We provide you with a syllabus and course materials. Here's the fun part- you are able to add content to make it your own and teach in a way that benefits your students. You will have the support of your assistant instructor in each class and the Program Director throughout the course.

Indigo is not like any other college or post-secondary school. We admit students to fill actual job openings for our Indigo Network of dental care providers. Based on the number of job openings available, we carefully select a class of students we believe will develop into outstanding professionals. Our combination of flexible online curriculum and hands-on training provides graduates with the skills our dental experts report are critical for the modern dental office. After 12 weeks of instruction, each student does an externship with an Indigo Network office to gain valuable real-world experience.
