About Our Family

We're a busy, creative household with a whole lot of energy and heart. Our home is the kind of place where something is always in motion a project underway, kids getting ready for school, a dog wandering in looking for a lap to sit on, and a grandma or two popping in to help. We love what we do and pour ourselves into it, which means our home needs someone who can help keep things running smoothly behind the scenes.

Both of our kids are school-age and full of personality. They're heading into full-time school starting in September, which brings a whole new rhythm to our days. Mornings tend to be the most chaotic stretch, and afternoons involve school pickups and the after-school wind-down. Our Saint Bernadoodle is a gentle giant who loves being around people and is as much a part of the household as anyone.

Our home is a happy, high-functioning space, and we want to keep it that way. We've had wonderful household support in the past and know firsthand what a difference the right person can make. Inside Sales Specialist
Energy Center-Manhattan Pool
Manhattan, KS

Job Description

Job Description

Inside Sales Specialist
Energy Center-Manhattan Pool | Manhattan, KS
Full-Time | In-Person | $24-$27 per hour, depending on experience
About the Role

Energy Center-Manhattan Pool has served Manhattan and the surrounding communities for more than 20 years. We help homeowners create comfortable, enjoyable spaces with swimming pools, spas, fireplaces and stoves, grills and smokers, and outdoor living products.

We are looking for a Inside Sales Specialist to join our team and grow into the role.

You do not need to be an experienced construction estimator or pool expert to be successful here. If you are organized, comfortable talking with customers, willing to learn, and good at following through, we can teach you our products, estimating process, and sales approach.

This role combines customer service, sales support, estimating, follow-up, and project coordination. You'll work directly with customers to understand what they are looking for, help prepare pricing and estimates, answer questions, and keep projects moving through the sales process.

Our approach is simple: understand the customer, provide the right solution, prepare an accurate estimate, and follow through.

What You'll Do
  • Meet with customers and learn about their project goals, preferences, and budget.

  • Help customers understand available products and options.

  • Build strong customer relationships through friendly, professional communication.

  • Learn how to prepare estimates, proposals, and project pricing.

  • Explain pricing, product options, project considerations, and next steps with support from the team.

  • Follow up with customers and leads by phone, email, and other appropriate channels.

  • Make outbound calls to company-provided leads and customers who have expressed interest in our products or services.

  • Enter and maintain customer information in our CRM.

  • Keep track of follow-ups, estimates, appointments, and customer commitments.

  • Work with the team to help ensure a smooth transition from the sale to the project or installation.

  • Learn our products, installation processes, estimating systems, and home-improvement services.

What We're Looking For

We are more interested in finding the right person than someone who has done this exact job before.

You may be a good fit if you have:

  • Experience working with customers in retail, hospitality, customer service, inside sales, office administration, or a similar role.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • A friendly, professional approach when working with customers.

  • Good organization and attention to detail.

  • The ability to follow up consistently and keep track of multiple customers or projects.

  • Comfort learning new products, software, pricing, and processes.

  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn a CRM system.

  • A willingness to ask questions, learn, and take ownership of your work.

  • The ability to work independently while also being part of a team.

Experience in construction, remodeling, home improvement, building materials, landscaping, outdoor living, pools, spas, kitchens and baths, estimating, or project-based sales is helpful, but not required.

We will train the right person on our products, estimating process, CRM, and sales approach.

How Success Is Measured

Success in this role is about being dependable, organized, responsive, and willing to learn.

We expect you to:

  • Respond to customers promptly.

  • Learn to prepare accurate estimates and proposals.

  • Follow up consistently with customers and leads.

  • Keep CRM records current and organized.

  • Stay on top of appointments, estimates, and customer commitments.

  • Help turn qualified opportunities into sales.

  • Provide a positive customer experience.

  • Communicate effectively with the rest of the team.

  • Continue building your knowledge of our products and services.

Compensation & Benefits
  • $24-$27 per hour, depending on experience

  • Hourly compensation with no individual commission requirement

  • Company-provided leads

  • Training and professional development

  • Career advancement opportunities

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance

  • Simple 401(k) with 3.5% company matching

  • Pension plan

  • Paid time off and paid holidays

  • Employee discount on company products

  • Company-sponsored events

  • Employee recognition program

Why Join Energy Center-Manhattan Pool?

We are a family-oriented, team-focused company with a friendly and supportive work environment.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and wants to develop skills in sales, estimating, project coordination, and the home-improvement industry.

You'll receive hands-on training on our products, installation processes, estimating, customer management, and sales approach. As you gain experience, there is room to take on more responsibility and grow within the company.

You don't need to know everything on your first day. We are looking for someone who is dependable, eager to learn, communicates well, and wants to build a long-term career.

How to Apply

If you have experience in customer service, retail, sales, office administration, construction, home improvement, or simply enjoy helping customers and learning new things, we'd like to hear from you.

Please submit your resume and tell us briefly about your experience working with customers and why this opportunity interests you.
