Job Description

Role:

The Solution Architect will analyze and define advanced technologies relevant to the applications and services within the enterprise architecture. Responsibilities:

Define conceptual level solution design, conduct market research and provide technical experience in defining services and technology

Perform an analysis of alternatives to identify approaches for technical problem resolution

Assist in the development of rough order magnitudes (ROMs).

Develop and assist project managers with program alignment documentation and EA artifacts for solution architecture.

Focus on the strategic use of emerging technologies to better manage the enterprise’s information and consistently insert those technologies into the enterprise

Provide coaching and mentoring to Program Managers to collect and maintain their technology architecture information

Consults on the implementation of technology solutions based on the architecture development.

Develop communication briefings for technical executive leadership on various issues related to technology architecture

Assist in the defining and implementing technology governance standards and activities

Provide technical guidance and counsel to project teams to ensure alignment to the IT Architecture

Qualifications

Requirements:

Possess a minimum of ten (10) years of designing and implementing enterprise-scale IT solutions.

Demonstrates a strong knowledge of advances in tools and techniques in platforms, hardware and software including SaaS, cloud computing, and system architectures.

Extensive knowledge of technology architecture and infrastructure

MCITP (Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional) or MSCE (Microsoft Certified System Engineer) certification preferred

Must know SOA, web services, enterprise data management, infrastructure and IT system security and application development

Full lifecycle experience with many application (functional) and infrastructure products, technologies, and services

Experience working with the Federal Government

Solid OOD/OOP foundation with experience in UML diagramming and design documentation.

Extensive experience building and exposing Web Services and SOA based components.
