Details Work in the MS/Tele unit of a hospital Patient population includes cardiac, vascular, pulmonary, renal, and general med-surg overflow Common diagnoses:chest pain, CAD, arrhythmias, CHF, MI, renal failure, COPD, GI bleed, sepsis, COVID Special procedures include pre/post cath lab, sheath removal, ablations, vascular surgeries, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips Telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, PCAs, epidurals, and wound vacs are used Night shift position, 3x12s from 18:45-07:15 Required to work every other holiday May float to all other inpatient units as needed Local travelers not accepted; must reside more than 65 miles from the facility Requirements Active LA or compact RN license required at time of consideration Minimum 2 years of recent MS/Tele experience required Current AHA BLS certification required Proficient in telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, titration of cardiac drips, and sheath removal Experience with central lines, PICC lines, port accessing, wound management, and isolation precautions Ability to start IVs and administer blood products References from 2 manager or supervisor are required for contract clearance NURSYS report must be current within 4 weeks of consideration Additional Information May be assigned to an Emergency Team during critical events, requiring on-site presence until the event passes or participation as a relief team member Participation in modules and orientation is required and scheduled during initial days Previous staff or in-house agency contractors must have a 1 year separation from the health system to be eligible First-time travelers with 2 years of experience are welcome to apply No call-in permitted; reliable attendance is essential No specific schedule requests, such as block scheduling, can be guaranteed American Traveler Job ID P-663623.
