Tax Expert - Local Branch
Intuit
oakland

Overview

Intuit is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our dynamic team as dedicated year-round TurboTax Local Service Experts in one of our new TurboTax locations across the United States. This unique opportunity combines tax expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, and community engagement to help customers navigate their tax needs. As a TurboTax - Local Service Expert, you will serve as a trusted advisor, empowering customers to achieve positive financial outcomes while supporting Intuit’s mission of “Powering Prosperity Around the World.”

About the Role: In this role, you will work on-site from a TurboTax location as part of a collaborative team of financial experts, serving in-person and virtual customers who use Intuit TurboTax products.

Your primary focus will be full-service tax return preparation, providing expert tax advice, calculations, and software support, but your responsibility extends beyond that. You will be the connective tissue between your customers and a broader team of specialists covering business tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, financial planning, and advisory services. This is not a hand-off model. You will sit in the same customer meetings, absorb the same context, and build a shared understanding of each customer's complete financial picture, then work in lock-step with the right experts to deliver a seamless, end-to-end Intuit experience.

Your ability to understand each customer's unique situation and connect with them on a personal level is critical. Taxes can be stressful, and your presence as a trusted, knowledgeable guide makes all the difference whether you're helping with a straightforward W-2 filing, navigating a major life event like marriage, a new child, or elder care, or tackling more complex scenarios involving business income, investments, or amendments.

Additionally, you will play a key role in growing TurboTax’s client base within the local community, attracting new clients, establishing long-term relationships, and driving customer loyalty. You will leverage TurboTax marketing support and software to empower you in building a thriving business that fosters prosperity for both you and your community.

This role is nonexempt and requires onsite presence at a TurboTax location in the United States.

What You’ll Do:

Provide Tax Expertise - Give hands-on tax advice and complete preparation services for TurboTax clients, handling simple to complex tax situations (e.g., personal and business income, deductions optimization, amendments). Facilitate discovery sessions and tax reviews to uncover deductions, minimize tax liabilities, maximize refunds, and provide future tax planning advice. Utilize resources such as government websites, professional tools, and team expertise to deliver accurate tax solutions in personalized everyday language.

Be a Proactive Community Ambassador - Embody a “community ambassador” and “business owner” mindset to actively build and grow a new local customer base for TurboTax. As a primary driver of local growth, you will own your market — identifying and pursuing prospects through targeted outreach, grass-roots marketing initiatives, referral networks, and community partnerships. Serve as the local face of TurboTax, converting new prospects into loyal, long-term clients. Organize and lead local events such as financial literacy workshops, community pop-ups, and networking gatherings with the support of TurboTax marketing tools and resources, to create consistent opportunities for customer engagement and brand awareness.

Champion the Full Intuit Ecosystem - Act as a trusted guide for every client by developing a deep understanding of their complete financial picture and connecting them with the Intuit solutions best positioned to move them forward. As you build relationships through tax engagements and collaborative client meetings, identify opportunities to introduce clients to complementary services such as bookkeeping, payroll, financial planning, or Credit Karma that meaningfully address their needs. Your role is not simply to deliver a service, but to ensure every client leaves with a clearer path and the full weight of Intuit's resources behind them for year-round support.

Build Relationships - Connect with people, demonstrate understanding and sensitivity to their financial concerns and build the long-term trust that turns a one-time transaction into a loyal, multi-year relationship.

Deliver a Best in Class Customer Experience - Create an exceptional customer experience, professionalism, and genuine interest in helping clients achieve their financial goals (e.g., saving for retirement, college funds, weddings, or vacations). - Interact with customers both in-person and through Intuit’s state-of-the-art video communication tools. Address client inquiries while helping them overcome tax-related challenges.

What You Get: As a TurboTax - Local Service Expert, you’ll receive access to exceptional company benefits and resources, including:

401(k) Savings Plan with company matching, paid sick time, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, E&O Insurance provided by Intuit, Employee Assistance Program

discounts on Intuit products including a free copy of TurboTax, ongoing collaboration opportunities with TurboTax’s network of growth-minded professionals and marketing support

Senior Product Manager, Emerging Products & AI
Workiva Inc.
ames, ia
Compensation: 129.000 - 207.000

Workiva's Growth organization is building the next generation of AI-native products. We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to transform ambiguous, complex customer challenges into validated, high-trust enterprise product solutions. In this role, you will champion early product spaces from inception to evaluation: uncovering systemic customer challenges, developing rapid technical prototypes, determining where artificial intelligence drives measurable value, and validating product-market fit with clear evidence before scaling. This is a technical, zero‑to‑one validation role focused on systemic exploration rather than static roadmap maintenance. Your core challenge will be architecting probabilistic AI experiences that deliver high utility while maintaining strict predictability, data security, and user safety within a highly regulated, high‑trust enterprise compliance environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Deep Customer Discovery & System Mapping – Lead qualitative user interviews, observational workflow walk‑throughs, and technical discovery sessions to analyze how enterprise finance, compliance, and audit teams manage complex operational data. Diagram enterprise dependency structures, human‑to‑system handoffs, multi‑stakeholder approval gates, and historical operational failure points.
  • Hypothesis Formulation & Strategic Betting – Synthesize messy, fragmented user signals into structured, reusable problem definitions rather than one‑off custom feature requests. Translate field observations into precise product‑market hypotheses, defining the explicit customer value, repeatability, and expected business impact of your proposed AI workflow interventions.
  • Rapid Prototyping & Technical Validation – Collaborate closely with design and engineering partners to develop, script, and launch low‑ and high‑fidelity validation concepts (utilizing tools like SQL, Python, Retool, or Streamlit). Establish clear Minimum Viable Product (MVP) boundaries, explicit non‑goals, and concrete validation timelines to decisively recommend whether to scale, pivot, or sunset an early‑stage product vector.
  • Agentic Experience & Trust Frameworks – Translate complex enterprise compliance anxieties into intuitive, high‑trust agentic experiences. Define interaction paradigms that dictate how autonomous agents collaborate with humans—ensuring the product interface clearly signals when an AI is making a probabilistic recommendation versus when deterministic rules apply. Champion elegant human‑in‑the‑loop touchpoints that allow users to audit, verify, and approve AI‑driven outcomes without sacrificing workflow momentum.
  • Agentic Boundary & Security Governance – Formulate, model, and implement digital authority boundaries for autonomous enterprise AI agents. Design enterprise‑grade, permission‑aware access policies that precisely define what an agent can read, summarize, compile, update, elevate, or execute, ensuring absolute auditability under active corporate compliance guidelines.
  • Cross‑Functional Alignment & Performance Analysis – Act as the central, transparent product leader connecting technical engineering workflows, UX design iterations, data security requirements, and go‑to‑market (GTM) pilot rollouts. Establish core quantitative Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that track early feature adoption, and conduct evidence‑driven retrospectives on experimental features to constantly iterate on strategy.

What You’ll Need

  • Minimum Qualifications – 6+ years of experience in product management or a closely related technical product‑building role with a Bachelor’s degree; or 4+ years of experience with an Advanced Degree. Demonstrated track record managing B2B SaaS applications, enterprise workflow automation software, data‑intensive products, or corporate business tools. Strong conceptual understanding of the modern applied AI landscape, including LLM capabilities, multi‑agent orchestration, and human‑in‑the‑loop design patterns. Proven experience translating highly ambiguous, unstructured user pain points into structured technical requirement documentation, validation roadmaps, and testable hypotheses. Exceptional product craft with a deep focus on user psychology, interface transparency, and building high‑trust solutions in risk‑averse environments.
  • Preferred Qualifications – Ability to understand how modern software products are structured, including APIs, front‑end experiences, back‑end services, data flows, AI/ML services, and integrations, and to use modern AI tools to explore, prototype, and work effectively with engineering. Advanced degree. Background working within deeply regulated domains such as corporate accounting, financial auditing, compliance reporting, risk management, legal operations, or ESG/sustainability tracking.

Working Conditions & Travel Requirements

Ability to travel up to 20% to facilitate customer discovery workshops, align with internal distributed product teams, and represent Workiva at key industry conferences. Reliable internet access during any remote work outside a Workiva office.

How You’ll Be Rewarded

Salary range in the US: $129,000 – $207,000. A discretionary bonus typically paid annually. Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire. 401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits package.

Equal Opportunity Employer

Employment decisions are made without regard to age, race, creed, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, disability status, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, marital status, citizenship status or any other protected characteristic. Workiva is committed to working with and providing reasonable accommodations to applicants with disabilities. To request assistance with the application process, please email Workiva employees are required to undergo comprehensive security and privacy training tailored to their roles, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory standards.
