Director of Product Management, UX Platform
Etsy
Brooklyn, NY

Director Of Product Management

Etsy is the global marketplace for unique and creative goods. We build, power, and evolve the tools and technologies that connect millions of entrepreneurs with millions of buyers around the world. As an Etsy employee, you will tackle unique, meaningful, and large-scale problems alongside passionate coworkers, all the while making a rewarding impact and Keeping Commerce Human.

We believe exceptional companies are built by exceptional teams, and we're intentional about it. That means hiring great people, setting them up for success from day one, and giving them real reasons to grow their careers here. We invest in development that goes beyond promotions, and we foster the trust and relationships that help people do their best work together.

We are looking for a Director of Product Management to lead UX Platform, the team that builds the foundation every Etsy experience is made on. As a leader of our UX Platform, you will be responsible for setting product strategy across design systems, prototyping, web front-end infrastructure, and front-end developer experience; raising the bar on how Etsy measures and improves experience quality; and building and coaching a team of product managers. Do you find joy in taking a broad, cross-disciplinary remit and turning it into a focused roadmap that people can rally behind? Are you as energized by accessibility and design-system architecture as you are by developer tooling and front-end infrastructure? If so, this could be the perfect match.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Director of Product Management, Foundation.

UX Platform is where design and engineering meet. We own the design system, the prototyping tools, and the web front-end frameworks and tooling used to build every page on Etsy. The quality, consistency, and speed of our entire product organization runs through our work.

You'll partner closely with Engineering and Design leaders who each bring a distinct point of view, and with the product teams who build on our platform. Bridging those perspectives into one platform strategy is a core part of the job.

Etsy has made UX quality a company-wide priority, and this team sits at the center of it. You'll help define how we benchmark critical buyer and seller journeys, modernize a long-lived front-end stack, and shape how AI-assisted tools change the way designers, PMs, and engineers work. Our internally built AI prototyping app is already live, and what comes next is yours to help decide.

Set and drive product strategy across web front-end developer experience, infrastructure, design systems, and prototyping, and make the trade-offs that turn a broad remit into a focused, prioritized roadmap.

Build a portfolio of solutions for measuring experience quality across Etsy, along with internal front-end developer experience, and use that evidence to decide where to invest.

Define our multi-year investment strategy for agentic and AI-assisted capabilities across design, product, and engineering workflows.

Lead and grow a team of product managers, investing in their careers and their craft.

Champion front-end platform health, accessibility, and design-system best practices as first-class product requirements, not afterthoughts.

Partner with the product teams who build on the platform to understand their needs and turn them into clear priorities.

Represent UX Platform's roadmap and progress to senior leadership, and build the case for investment where needed.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

You've led products for platform, infrastructure, design-system, or developer-experience teams whose customers are internal and technical (engineers, designers, PMs), and you know what it takes to earn their trust.

You're a systems thinker who can connect the pieces of a design system, front-end architecture, and developer workflow into one coherent picture.

You turn ambiguity into clarity. You learn fast, adapt as the organization evolves, and create structure rather than waiting for it to be handed to you.

You own problems and outcomes, not just projects, and you're comfortable working in a product operating model built around that idea.

You measure what matters, whether that's developer experience or UX quality, and use data to prioritize.

You communicate crisply and credibly with highly technical audiences and highly design-minded ones, and you can build shared conviction when their priorities compete.

You're an excellent coach who has managed PMs and helped them grow.

You're curious, enthusiastic, generous, and responsible, and you're excited about agentic and AI-assisted ways of working.

In addition to salary, you'll be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family. Base salary is determined by your location, skills, and experience.

Etsy uses two geographic pay zones to reflect the labor markets where we compete for talent: one called Geo-1, covering the New York City metropolitan area, San Francisco Bay Area, and Seattle metropolitan area, and one called Geo-2, covering all other U.S. locations. Salary ranges for this role vary by zone and are listed below.

Location

We prioritize candidates based within commutable distance of Etsy's Brooklyn Office. Depending on proximity, we ask team members to come in once or twice per week. Remote candidates outside commutable distance may be considered on a case-by-case basis, with the expectation of occasional travel to the office. Learn more details about our work modes and workplace safety policies here.

Salary Range:

Geo-1: 240,000.00 - 324,000.00 USD Annual

Geo-2: 216,000.00 - 292,000.00 USD Annual

If you're interested in joining the team at Etsy, please share your resume with us and feel free to include a cover letter if you'd like. As we hope you've seen already, Etsy is a place that values individuality and variety. We don't want you to be like everyone else -- we want you to be like you! So tell us what you're all about.

At Etsy, we believe that a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace furthers relevance, resilience, and longevity. We encourage people from all backgrounds, ages, abilities, and experiences to apply. Etsy is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ethnicity, ancestry, national origin, religion or creed, sex, pregnancy (including childbirth and related medical conditions), gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, citizenship or immigration status, marital or familial status, physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, military or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law. If, due to a disability, you need an accommodation during any part of the interview or hiring process, please let your recruiter know and we will work with you to meet your needs.
