Banquet Set Up will be responsible for assisting the banquet personnel with their everyday operational materials and items to ensure exceptional service to all guests that is consistent and continually in accordance to the Autograph Collection standards under the franchise of Mainsail Lodging & Development.

Essential Functions

  • Acknowledge guest in all public spaces with a warm and friendly greeting
  • Assist with banquet function of the hotel to include set up of tables and chairs
  • Follow scheduled shifts and follow break and lunch requirements
  • Report any light outages, broken equipment, or room disparities to manager paying close attention to hallway areas
  • Assist guest with any specials requests
  • Ability to communicate with manager on inventory needs, i.e. chairs, tables, and banquet linens
  • Professional communication while using technology
  • Respect all guests, team members, and management by maintaining a positive, friendly attitude
  • Ability to interact with guests and share hotel knowledge using personalization, such as using the guest name
  • Maintain guest confidentiality following all hotel procedures
  • Report any suspicious activity or unusual items in room
  • Report any irregular behavior from guests in public areas and/or in rooms
  • Ability to take initiative and handle assignments with limited supervision
  • Follow all hotel policies and procedures as outlined in the team member handbook
  • Maintain cleanliness and order of work area such as closets, carts, and housekeeping office
  • Perform other duties as management requests to service our guests.

Education & Experience

Planning and Preparation A Sales Representative is required to plan times and activities to ensure achievement of company and supplier, volume, distribution, and merchandising objectives within the assigned territory by:

  • Calling on accounts daily, by following an established and efficient route which ensures assigned accounts are visited and serviced in compliance with company frequency standards; keeping route sheets up to date; and developing positive customer relations with owners, managers, and all other account employees.
  • Analyzing the total territory and each account to determine the priority selling and merchandising opportunities.
  • Preparing and presenting professional sales presentations to the retailers that are tailored to current supplier programs and the needs of the customer.
  • Interact with ADS', Supplier Representatives, and Promotional Agency Representatives to achieve said objectives.

Selling A Sales Representative is required to deliver effective sales presentations that achieve company and supplier objectives as a result of:

    • Requesting permanent P.O.S. materials for accounts to ensure brand visibility and account dominance (e.g., bar rails, napkin holders, table tents).

Supplier/Supervisory Interaction A Sales Representative is required to be familiar with all suppliers and their brands to ensure positive consumer reaction by:

  • Work with supplier representatives with 48-hour notice and/or company managers with 24 notice and booked during business days (Monday-Friday). These are supplier and/or supervisory accompanied workdays and are designed to train and teach the salesperson advanced selling skills and methods to assure their usage is being practiced and correctly presented.
  • Knowing their account needs and opportunities for each supplier work-with.

Merchandising A Sales Representative is required to secure in all accounts, the effective presentation to the consumer, of all brands represented, in accordance with company and/or supplier merchandising standards by:

  • Keeping management informed daily, on all aspects of their territory, which includes turning in accurate recaps in a timely manner.

  • Work with external partners (reliability labs, OEMs, CMFs) to facilitate testing, qualification, and analysis.
  • Own product reliability and quality readiness at each NPD gate.
  • Own supplier readiness for NPDs.
  • Estimate and manage budget requirements per project; work with NPD teams to allocate resources.
  • Manage project timelines and report progress bi-weekly to executive leadership and key partners.
  • Build and present program-level metrics and status to executives on a regular cadence.
  • Develop business cases to align internal and external leadership on the most effective path for quality and reliability program management.

Internship Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist customers in our showroom.​

  • Support the team with aquarium and system maintenance.​

  • Develop proficiency in identifying and caring for marine and freshwater flora and fauna.​

What We Offer:
