Job Summary and Qualifications
- The Interfacility Transport EMT will operate on the EMS Transport Services’ Team. The primary duty of the Interfacility Transport EMT will be to assist the Paramedic in rendering safe and effective treatment and transport of patients on the Interfacility Transport Services’ ambulance. The Interfacility Transport EMT will respond to Interfacility Transport Call-Center requests, coordinate with other healthcare providers, and facilitate transport appropriately.
- As needed, the Interfacility Transport EMT will function within the free-standing Emergency Departments and the main Emergency Department. While working in the Emergency Department, the Interfacility Transport EMT will provide quality care to patients under the direction of a Paramedic or RN, in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of hospital.
- The Interfacility Transport EMT will perform all duties identified in their job description, approved Medical Protocols, and departmental policy. Skills will be validated by competency assessments under the License of the Interfacility Transport Medical Director.
- The Interfacility Transport EMT will report to the Chief of Interfacility Transport Operations. They will serve as a member of the Healthcare team through active communication; documentation; feedback and assistance as needed or requested. The Interfacility Transport EMT will attend meetings, education opportunities, and in-services as required by departmental policy, and contribute to the growth and development of their self and the Interfacility Transport Services’ Team.
- The Interfacility Transport EMT will maintain good working relationships with patients, visitors, physicians, co-workers, and other hospital staff.
