Head of Sales
Qualitate
new york, ny
Compensation: 150.000 - 200.000

About Qualitate

Qualitate is building the AI-native primary intelligence platform for enterprises, investment firms, and asset managers. We automate the entire primary research workflow, from study design and expert recruitment through AI-moderated interviews and insight synthesis - replacing weeks of manual research with hours of high-signal output.

Expert research is a broken industry dominated by legacy incumbents with expensive, manual, and slow services. Product teams, strategy teams, research teams, and investors spend hundreds of hours coordinating intermediaries, scheduling expert calls, and synthesizing insights across fragmented providers. The process takes weeks to produce short‑lived intelligence.

Qualitate transforms this workflow by autonomously conducting expert discussions at scale using AI. Qualitate’s AI Moderator interviews thousands of experts simultaneously each month, capturing forward‑looking purchasing plans, competitive displacement, and real‑time ROI signals. The platform turns these interviews into quantified, time‑series outputs tracking over 10,000 public and private companies, queryable instantly in natural language.

Our customers include some of the world’s largest enterprises, hedge funds, PE firms, credit investors, and venture capital firms. We’re growing fast, and our Head of Sales is one of the most consequential hires we’ll make this year.

The Role

You’ll own sales at Qualitate from day one. You’re taking the handoff from our founder, stepping into a working motion with AEs already above quota, and will help keep us on our current hyper‑growth scaling trajectory. You’ll call the number, build the playbook for the next stage, hire and ramp the next wave of AEs, and own the rhythm of the entire revenue org. You’ll be a close strategic partner to our CEO, in front of our biggest customers, and help us grow our sales team from 4 to 15 over the next 12 months.

What the day‑to‑day looks like:

  • Revenue ownership. You will own the number, set quotas, call the forecast, and be accountable for hitting it.

  • Sales motion and playbook. Help build out qualification criteria, sales process, and enablement to ensure we can scale with limited friction from 4 to 40 reps + front‑line managers.

  • Team building. Hire and ramp the next wave of AEs, with new reps to productivity in under 90 days.

  • Pipeline and operating cadence. Run weekly pipeline reviews, deal reviews, and coaching cadences. Build the muscle of a high‑performing sales org.

  • Cross‑functional partnership. Own the product‑sales feedback loop. Partner with marketing on pipeline generation and messaging. Tighten alignment with post‑sales to deliver against customer expectations.

Who This Role Is For

  • Track record of promotions. You’ve been promoted consistently throughout your career. You’re on a sales leadership track at a high‑growth company and ready to build up from the foundation at a hyper‑growth startup.

  • High‑growth company background required. You’ve led teams through the hyper‑growth phase of the startup journey. GTM maturity, ARR, and team size where we are today through where we want to be in the next 2–3 years, and thrived in environments with limited resources and infrastructure.

  • Comparable ACV and sales cycle. You’ve sold mid‑market and enterprise deals, as low as $50k up to $1M ACV, with 30–120 day sales cycles. Selling to large technology companies and/or financial services buyers is a strong plus.

  • Hands‑on playbook builder. You’ve personally built ICP definitions, qualification criteria, comp structures, and onboarding programs.

  • Lead from the front. You’re an excellent seller. You’re willing and proud to jump into deals, help reps close, and show the team what excellence looks like,

  • Comfortable with chaos. You’ve operated in early‑stage or high‑growth environments and thrived. You communicate proactively, flag problems early, and don’t need to be managed closely.

What Sets You Apart

  • Direct experience selling to large tech enterprises and/or investment firms.
  • You’ve been an early sales leader at a company that scaled through $5-50M+ ARR and saw firsthand what good looks like.
  • Experience building or owning a pipeline generation function, with a clear point of view on how AI is reshaping outbound today.
  • Strong cross‑functional partnership experience, especially with product and marketing.
  • Bonus if you’ve hired and developed a front‑line sales manager into the role.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation. Top of market compensation. Base + Variable comp + Equity.

  • Benefits. Health coverage, flexible PTO, paid holidays.

  • Location. Full‑time, in‑person in New York City.

What to expect working at Qualitate

  • Excellence. You’ll be held accountable to an exceptionally high bar and impact

  • High velocity. Fast paced work environment in terms of growth, decision making, and time to impact

  • High agency. Ownership over how you work, not just what you work on. We hire people we trust to figure it out.

  • A builder’s mindset. You'll create the processes, playbooks, and systems that define how this company scales.

  • Shared ambition. A small, early team disrupting the multi‑billion dollar market research industry with AI.

  • Joy. We work hard and genuinely enjoy working with each other. Dedication to our work is matched only by our passion for fostering an enjoyable, collaborative work environment.

Head of Finance and Operations

Department: Accounting & Finance

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Melville, NY

Compensation: $180,000 - $220,000 / year

Description

The Opportunity

We are hiring a Head of Finance & Operations to join a fast‑growing technology company operating at the intersection of cloud software and physical product‑based commerce solutions.

This is not a narrow accounting role. It is a high‑impact, hands‑on finance position for someone who thrives in environments where finance is deeply connected to how the business actually runs.

You will own core financial operations while also helping shape how the company scales operationally. This includes improving systems, tightening processes, and partnering across the business to ensure we are making clear, data‑driven decisions across both software and inventory‑driven workflows.

The right person will be equally comfortable:

  • Building structure where it doesn’t exist yet
  • Working directly in the details of financial models and operational processes
  • Partnering cross‑functionally to improve how the business runs day to day

This role sits close to the center of the business and requires someone who can balance precision, speed, and practical decision‑making in a high‑growth environment.

You will also support commercial contract review and negotiation workflows, working alongside external counsel to ensure agreements are structured appropriately, commercially sound, and operationally executable.

As the Head of Finance & Operations you excel at the below core competencies:

  • Financial & Operational Acumen: The ability to seamlessly connect financial strategy with day‑to‑day operations — from SaaS metrics and forecasting to supply chain and vendor management — ensuring smart, scalable decisions across the business.
  • Cross‑Functional Leadership & Execution: Strong collaboration and communication skills to align stakeholders across Finance, Product, Sales, Legal, and Operations. This person should drive clarity, build systems, and execute efficiently in fast‑paced, cross‑functional environments.
  • Contract & Risk Management: Skilled at reviewing, negotiating, and operationalizing contracts — understanding legal and business implications, managing risk, and ensuring favorable terms while working closely with external counsel when needed.

The impact you'll make

Financial Operations & Control

  • Own core finance operations including AP/AR, cash flow management, and reconciliations
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and close processes
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing financial planning cycles
  • Build and refine financial reporting frameworks to improve visibility and decision‑making

Operational Finance & Business Support

  • Partner with teams across Sales, Product, and Operations to align financial execution with business priorities
  • Support inventory, purchasing, and vendor‑related financial workflows in a hybrid SaaS + product environment
  • Identify and implement improvements to operational and financial processes as the company scales
  • Develop and maintain key business KPIs across both SaaS and product lines

Systems, Process & Scale

  • Oversee financial systems and tools that support reporting, operations, and scaling efficiency
  • Improve internal controls and strengthen financial governance as the company grows
  • Drive automation and process improvements across finance and operational workflows

Commercial & Contract Support

  • Review and support negotiation of commercial agreements, vendor contracts, and SaaS‑related terms
  • Work with external counsel to ensure contracts are structured properly and align with business needs
  • Help operationalize contract terms into scalable internal processes

Strategic Support

  • Provide financial insight and analysis to support leadership decision‑making
  • Support planning around growth initiatives, investments, and operational scaling priorities

What you will bring

  • 12+ years of experience in finance or operations, with at least 3 years in a SaaS or hybrid SaaS + physical goods business
  • Direct experience working for founder led/owned companies
  • A leadership style that reflects deep ownership — you're in the details, understanding workflows, digging into financial models, and solving problems alongside your team.
  • Strong grasp of finance fundamentals — budgeting, forecasting, P&L, cash flow, etc.
  • Deep operational experience — supply chain, fulfillment, systems, or cross‑functional execution
  • Proven ability to lead and scale finance operations in high‑growth environments
  • Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills; Excel/Sheets and financial modeling fluency
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating contracts, including SaaS agreements, vendor terms, and NDAs
  • Ability to identify and escalated legal risk appropriately while managing contract processes independently
  • Experience with ERP, financial systems, and SaaS metrics (MRR, CAC, LTV, etc.)
  • Experience monetizing payments in SaaS
  • Strong communicator and collaborator across technical and non‑technical teams

As a member of the KWI team you will receive

  • Full Medical, Dental and Vision
  • Annual bonus eligible
  • Free gym in the building
  • Generous PTO policy
  • Summer Fridays …all year round
  • Tuition Reimbursement
  • Discount from building café
  • 401(K) with a 50% company match (up to 6% of employee contribution)
  • Employee Referral Program
  • (1) Volunteer day each year

Our commitment to you

At KWI, we know that cultivating diversity and fostering an inclusive work environment is critical to our impact and success. We create an environment where no individual is advantaged or disadvantaged because of their background. We offer equal‑opportunity employment regardless of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability status, age, marital status, or protected veteran status.
