Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $82,000 - $123,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Sales Incentive Program, which offers a quarterly cash bonus.

As a Process Control Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in collaborating with various teams across our plant to set up and maintain automation in the manufacturing processes. Serving as the site expert on automation platforms, you will contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the operations. Additionally, you will assist, consult, and occasionally lead site-specific projects, demonstrating a commitment to safety and clear communication throughout the organization.
Key Functions:
  • Lead, develop, and support application of process and process control best practices. Including joining with mill leadership to develop mid- and long-term process control network strategies
  • Understand and share industry best practices, equipment options and proven strategies for manufacturing control systems and applications
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, variability reduction and cost reduction
  • Provide project and technical leadership (including training) for local and system-wide process control technology applications and PLC Technicians
  • Serve as a key EWP business resource for projects to install and apply new process control technology and methods, documentation and training
  • Create visibility and lead review of technology with potential for application in our manufacturing operations
  • Build relationships with Corporate and other businesses process control resources
  • Initiate and develop productive relationships with external suppliers of process and control technology
  • Partner with manufacturing and business leaders to ensure alignment of project portfolio with business and operational goals
  • Mentor and assist the development of other processes and process control engineers and Technicians throughout the business
Qualifications:
  • BS degree in Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, Computer or Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years of experience, or Associate technical degree and 8+ years, or 10+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in applying and supporting process control solutions in manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated success in developing and applying process control solutions for process/product improvement and cost reduction
  • Advanced level knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLC), human-machine interface (HMI) and related systems with proficiency in programming and configuring complex automation strategies
  • Ability and desire to lead cross-functional team projects with participation from manufacturing site and corporate based engineering personnel
  • Ability to work with associates of all levels including managers, engineers, machine operators, quality technicians, line supervisors, maintenance technicians, information technology
  • Extensive process knowledge and a first principles understanding of dynamic process behavior
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and problem-solving ability
  • Capacity to lead and participate in several projects simultaneously
The following qualifications are desired:
  • Experience in manufacturing wood products and associated discrete control applications
  • Strong data analysis skills and ability to diagnose complex process scenarios
  • Experience in controller design and fundamental tuning approaches
  • Experience with successfully applying advanced control solutions, such as model predictive control (MPC) for multi-variable processes

Description: We are looking for a Finance and Operations Analyst to join our Softwood Lumber team supporting our McComb, MS and Holden, LA facilities. Depending on the applicant, this role will be based at one of these facilities with required travel to support the other facility weekly. Our Analyst will partner with unit business leaders driving operational excellence using problem solving, financial and analytical skills. Our focus is to move beyond reporting and planning activities, to deliver the right level of information and decision making to execute business strategy and ensure top quartile performance.

In this role, your essential functions will be to:
Essential Functions:
  • Collaborate with unit business leaders to drive operational excellence using problem-solving, financial, and analytical skills.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial analysis, variance analysis, and reporting to support decision-making processes.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to forecast business performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with business strategy and objectives.
  • Lead and serve as the focal point for monthly P&L/S&OP forecasting processes and perform month-end closing tasks, delivering key operating cost/margin results.
  • Conduct financial analysis of all capital projects and develop production reporting for mill statistical tracking.
  • Lead strategic planning processes, including input on potential solutions for continuous improvement and maintaining key internal controls.
  • Create, maintain, and deliver routine fiscal management reports, develop efficient and reliable processes, and maintain accurate process documentation.
  • Lead or participate in special projects, promoting and fostering the teamwork system.
  • Participate in and work with internal/external financial audits and reports.
  • Manage time effectively through setting priorities and multi-tasking.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in the manufacturing or softwood lumber industry.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Flexible and capable of adapting to new perspectives and approaches to problem-solving.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Excellent PC skills, specifically advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting tools.
  • Excellent communication and people skills to effectively partner with business leaders.
  • Willingness to travel weekly between McComb, MS, and Holden, LA facilities.
  • 2-5 years of work experience with a demonstrated progression in work responsibilities.
  • Ability to excel in a team environment, embrace change, and collaborate to achieve results.
  • Desire and capacity to learn the business operations of the lumber industry.
  • Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with business enterprise system i.e., SAP a plus

This is a key leadership role within Wood Products with responsibility for the people, profit, and performance of Weyerhaeuser's growing Distribution business in Central California from the Fresno Distribution Center. Qualifications:
