As a Shipyard Installation and Test Specialist for GDMS Field Engineering, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for supporting the construction and integration of the COLUMBIA Class ballistic missile submarines. This position is based at the Electric Boat shipyard and plays a critical role in ensuring the successful installation, integration, and testing of mission-critical, strategic Fire Control Systems aboard the Navy's next generation submarines.

As a Shipyard Installation and Test Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including shipyard personnel, design engineers, and Navy representatives to ensure all systems meet stringent performance, safety, and quality standards. This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to one of the most important defense programs in the nation.

This role will initially be located at the Quonset Point RI Electric Boat facility with frequent travel required to the Groton CT Electric Boat facility. Permanent transition to the Groton facility will be required as the program matures. Mileage expenses for travel between the facilities is reimbursable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the installation and integration of mechanical, electrical, and fiber optic components of the GDMS Fire Control Systems aboard the COLUMBIA class submarines.
  • Develop and execute test plans and procedures to validate system functionality and performance, ensuring compliance with Strategic Systems Programs (SSP), GDMS, and Navy standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during installation and testing, working collaboratively with GDMS support teams, Electric Boat shipyard teams, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct equipment field modifications, inspections, and quality checks to ensure proper system installation, alignment, and compliance with design specifications utilizing strong procedural compliance skills.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of installation and testing activities, including problem reports, test results, configuration changes, and relevant meeting minutes.
  • Develop documentation and/or take part in peer reviews of relevant engineering documentation required to support shipyard work.
  • Communicate regularly with GDMS engineering support and management, Electric Boat personnel, government/military contacts, and various other external program stakeholders.

  • Experience in system installation, integration, or testing in a shipyard environment.
  • Submarine or naval vessel experience highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with SPALTs, ODs (Ordnance Documents), Navy specifications, standards, and documentation processes is a plus.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and documentation.

In addition to other related projects, this role will drive a comprehensive fit-gap analysis to evaluate the transition from our current on-premises environment to Huron's SaaS platform (v12), followed by the phased upgrade of all research administration modules across the University and ultimate support and growth of such modules.

The Senior Project Manager will serve as the primary liaison between the University and Huron, collaborate directly with colleagues in Information Services, champion system optimization across central and departmental offices, and ensure that the University derives maximum value from its Huron subscription by taking advantage of new features. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role requiring deep knowledge of research administration business and systems, strong project management discipline, and the ability to build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups.This role leads diverse IT projects typically involving multiple groups in the IT Function. Uses deep knowledge of IT processes, leadership skills, and breadth of experience to manage budgets, resources, and schedules. Coordinates work of IT staff and resolves complex issues to ensure project goals and requirements are met.

Responsibilities

  • Leads a structured fit-gap analysis of the current AURA on-premises environment against Huron's delivered SaaS platform functionality.
  • Engages directly with Huron to evaluate compatibility of existing smart-forms, workflows, and business logic with the new SaaS platform.
  • Partners with system and office functional leads to inventory existing customizations and reconcile them against out-of-the-box SaaS settings that preserve the University's upgrade path.
  • Develops detailed migration recommendations, including disposition of current customizations, retain, retire, or replace with native functionality.
  • Documents all findings and presents phased transition plans to senior leadership.
  • Leads and coordinates the end-to-end upgrade of all AURA modules, including Grants, Agreements, COI, IRB, IBC, ECC, Prime stores, and related integrations with Workday, Oracle and the Business Objects and Orbit reporting tools.
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive project plan, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and dependencies across modules.
  • Oversees all phases of each module upgrade, requirements gathering, configuration, testing, training, go-live, and post-implementation support.
  • Ensures quarterly SaaS upgrades proceed seamlessly following migration, with minimal disruption to research operations.
  • Identifies and mitigates risks and develop contingency plans to maintain project momentum.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact with Huron, managing the ongoing vendor relationship and escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Monitors and reports on Huron deliverables, SLAs, and product roadmap commitments.
  • Troubleshoots system issues in coordination with Huron support, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Continuously evaluates the University's Huron subscription to ensure maximum return on investment, identifying underutilized features or modules.
  • Collaborates with Procurement on contract management and vendor performance reviews.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Education: Advanced degree strongly preferred.

  • Prior experience in sponsored research administration or research compliance within a higher education or academic medical center environment.

School Health Services is looking for caring and skilled Certified Nursing Assistants to become part of our school family as School Health Room Technicians. What You'll Be Doing

The School Health Room Technician provides standard frontline school health room care to include first aide, emergency care, and administration of medications and treatments in routine and non-routine situations to students (the focus) and staff (emergency situations) at the school of assignment within Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS); a licensed Registered Nurse (RN), who is normally a School Community Health Nurse (SCHN) in School Health Services (SHS) delegates authority to, and provides clinical oversight of, the School Health Room Technician in accordance with Maryland regulations. The School Health Room Technician also performs an array of care related administrative work, such as preparing/maintaining student health records, reviewing student emergency information, documenting health room visits, transcribing medication and treatment orders, checking, refilling and distributing first aid kits, sending out health related letters, preparing health-wellness themed bulletin boards and, as pertinent to the position of assignment, referring students to the School Based Health and Wellness Center.

  • Administers standard first aid care to students who present themselves to the school health room as either injured or sick, and returns them to the classroom after treatment, or arranges for parental or other transfer from school in more serious situations.
  • Maintains manual and/or computerized daily logs such as containing student's name, nature of complaint, and care provided for each health room visit, and documents more detailed information to individual student school health records.
  • Keeps the delegating SCHN informed of unusual health situations in the school and if directed will share the information with the principal or others.
  • Reminds teachers of the date and time of health screenings (such as hearing and vision), pulls student's health records, and assists nurse by setting up screening schedule (or may administer screening tests as delegated by the SCHN); notifies the SCHN of any students who fall outside the acceptable range on any screening test; documents the results in student's health files; and supports the SCHN in notification of parents of screening results.
  • Monitors compliance with immunization regulations in school to which assigned and, as appropriate, contacts personnel of other school districts, doctors' offices and/or parents of new student to obtain immunization records and to bring health, immunization, and emergency contact records up to date.
  • Administers emergency medications, provided by DHHS and MCPS per standing Medical Director orders.
  • Assists disabled students requiring assistance of daily living activities (ADLs).
  • The work involves sitting at a computer console and keyboarding, moving about, lifting, carrying, supporting, pushing, pulling, adjusting and moving equipment or persons requiring force in the range of 30 to 50 lbs. or more, and other physical demands typical of workers in general health care delivery and health care office work situations.

Selected candidates will be required to successfully completed a pre-employment physical exam, drug screen, criminal background and Child Protective Services clearance as well as a House Bill 486 background and employer review.

Medical and background clearances must be received no later than November 13, 2026, in order to move forward. Onboarding and training will start on December 1, 2026.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience: One (1) year of experience working in a position that involved care of, or services to, children or adolescents.

Education: Graduation from high school or High School Certificate of completion recognized in the State of Maryland.

Equivalency: None.

Licenses, Registrations, Certifications, or Special Requirements:

  • Possession and maintenance of an active and current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant-I (CNA-I) and/or Certified Nursing Assistant-II (CNA-II) registered with the State of Maryland.
