    Driver Manager
    QQR
    Blue Ash, OH

    Job Description

    Job Description

    Company Description

QQR Logistics and QQR Transport keep critical freight moving for supply chains that can't afford to stop. QQR brings disciplined execution to complex supply chains across automotive, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, aerospace, energy, and other key industries throughout North America and across major U.S.- Canada and U.S.- Mexico cross-border lanes.

This role is with QQR Transport, an asset-based carrier that operates its own fleet, running full-truckload (FTL) freight in dry van, bulk, and open deck modalities. QQR Transport is building its dispatch and operations team in Cincinnati, Ohio and looking for experienced logistics professionals that are ready to grow their careers.

    Job Overview

QQR Transport is seeking an experienced Driver Manager in Cincinnati, OH to dispatch our fleet and ensure successful execution of freight delivery through effective driver management, load planning, and dispatch operations. The Driver Manager will act as the link between the business, our drivers, and our freight brokerage partners. Unlike larger carriers that split these duties across separate roles, you will own both the driver relationship and load planning, running your board end to end. Reporting to and supporting the Operations Manager, you will run a high-volume full-truckload (FTL) dispatch board of 30 - 50 drivers per dispatcher. The ideal candidate combines sharp communication skills with real trucking industry knowledge and thrives on managing multiple loads and drivers efficiently, even when things move fast. QQR is scaling fast as a startup through organic growth and acquisitions to several hundred employees, and your work will directly impact driver satisfaction, on-time service, and load profitability.

    Key Responsibilities

    •     Make safety-conscious decisions that ensure compliance with all policies and procedures

    •     Balance the needs of our drivers, freight brokerage partners, and the business

    •     Provide continuous, structured, and proactive performance management and coaching to drivers

    •     Manage driver home time and schedules

    •     Own load planning for your board: plan, assign, and coordinate full-truckload (FTL) loads across regional and OTR lanes (dry van, bulk, and open deck), managing a high-volume board of 30 to 50 drivers per dispatcher

    •     Handle route planning and optimization to maximize equipment utilization and minimize empty miles

    •     Track equipment, monitor driver hours of service (HOS), and keep pickups and deliveries on schedule

    •     Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with drivers and freight brokers

    •     Negotiate freight rates and manage load profitability

    •     Resolve on-road issues quickly, cost-consciously, and effectively

    •     Maintain accurate dispatch logs, driver schedules, and compliance reporting

    •     Work directly with freight brokerages on load bookings, rate confirmations, tracking updates, and issue resolution

    •     Support the Operations Manager with daily execution, reporting, and escalations

    •     Collaborate closely with Operations, Safety, and Accounting to ensure alignment across all cross-functional teams

    •     Collaborate with HR and Recruiting on driver hiring, onboarding, and driver retention

    Qualifications

    •     2+ years of experience as a dispatcher, driver manager, fleet manager, or load planner in FTL trucking/logistics (dry van, regional, and/or OTR)

    •     Strong working knowledge of FMCSA/DOT regulations

    •     Familiarity with load boards (DAT, etc.) and other TMS software

    •     Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

    •     The ability to stay organized and composed in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

    •     Confidence managing a high call volume and constant email flow

    Requirements

    Preferred Qualifications

    •     Experience dispatching bulk and/or open deck freight

    •     Experience with ELD platforms (e.g., Samsara, Omnitracs, PeopleNet)

    •     Experience supporting U.S.- Canada and U.S.- Mexico cross-border freight

    •     Bilingual is a plus

    What Success Looks Like

Within your first several months, you will run your dispatch board with confidence, keep pickups and deliveries on schedule, build trusted relationships with drivers and freight brokers, maintain clean and compliant dispatch records, and manage load profitability, keeping freight moving and drivers supported as QQR grows.

    Why Join QQR Transport?
