The requirement is expected to include three full-time physicians and one part-time physician. These positions are contingent upon final solicitation requirements and contract award.
Assignment Overview
• Anticipated start: October 1, 2026, or as soon as possible following credentialing and privileging.
• Anticipated term: 12-18 Months
• Physicians will be assigned to one facility; routine travel between facilities is not anticipated.
• Continuity of care is preferred. Alternative physician coverage arrangements may be considered.
• On-call coverage is anticipated. Call schedules and response requirements will be defined.
• Call-back activity is expected to be very low; the current preliminary estimate is approximately 20 hours annually.
• No routine overtime is currently anticipated.
Position Responsibilities
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage Veterans requiring radiation oncology services.
• Develop, prescribe, review, and manage individualized radiation treatment plans in collaboration with medical physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, nurses, and other members of the oncology team.
• Provide treatment using 2D and 3D conformal radiation therapy, IMRT and VMAT, stereotactic body radiation therapy, and stereotactic radiosurgery, as required by the assigned facility.
• Conduct consultations, treatment-planning reviews, on-treatment visits, follow-up visits, and other clinically appropriate radiation oncology services.
• Use Eclipse for treatment planning and ARIA for oncology information, record, and verification functions.
• Maintain complete, timely, and accurate clinical documentation and comply with VA clinical policies, medical staff bylaws, privileging requirements, and quality standards.
• Provide telephone consultation and call-back coverage when scheduled under the final contract requirements.
• Communicate fluently in spoken and written English and collaborate effectively with VA clinical and administrative personnel.
Required Qualifications
• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an accredited institution.
• Successful completion of an accredited Radiation Oncology residency program.
• Current certification in Radiation Oncology by the American Board of Radiology. Board-eligible physicians will not be accepted.
• At least three years of clinical Radiation Oncology experience after completion of residency.
• A current, full, active, and unrestricted medical license in a U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth, or the District of Columbia. The solicitation will govern final license requirements.
• Current National Provider Identifier and Drug Enforcement Administration registration, as required for assigned duties.
• Ability to satisfy all VA credentialing, privileging, background investigation, occupational-health, and onboarding requirements.
• Ability to provide complete and verifiable education, training, employment, competency, licensure, and malpractice history, including explanations for any gaps.

  • We provide this service one or two Saturdays per month, ensuring there is no conflict with your current professional schedule. Each clinic day typically runs from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, depending on the number of scheduled evaluations.
PERTINENT INFORMATION
  • As the provider, you will provide disability examinations and evaluations that primarily test the claimant s function and range of motion.
  • Conduct basic physical evaluations using a structured, easy to follow template
  • Perform assessments solely for the purpose of assisting the State of Ohio in determining eligibility for government programs
  • Document findings clearly and professionally
  • Not establish a doctor patient relationship
  • Not provide diagnosis, treatment, or medical advice
  • Not determine whether a claimant qualifies for benefits
  • We schedule each clinic about 6-8 weeks in advance and can work around your current professional schedule. Payment is issued immediately upon completion of the charts, so there is no waiting for billing.
  • We will pay $60 per patient seen for the conducting of these physicals. That comes out to be about $100-$120 an hour. On average you can expect to conduct about 14-16 physicals during the 1 day/month clinic.
