Clinical Specialist - Denver
Johnson & Johnson
Honolulu
Overview

META Dynamic Inc. offers an exciting and unique opportunity to provide on‑site support in the operating room for Neuro, Ortho and ENT surgeons. As a Surgical Navigation Clinical Specialist, you will play a vital role in assisting surgeons during complex surgical procedures involving the brain, spine, or sinus. Your responsibility will be to operate a neurosurgical navigation system (GPS‑like equipment for the body) to provide accurate, real‑time guidance during surgical procedures. This allows the surgeon to improve precision and safety during these intricate surgeries and achieve better patient outcomes.

A Day in the Life
  • Preparation: The day typically begins early (often 6:00 a.m.) but can start later depending on the hospital’s schedule. Prior to the surgery, the clinical specialist loads and reviews the MRI and/or CT scans and performs the preoperative planning for the procedure.
  • Surgery: The primary focus of a clinical specialist’s day is assisting with the navigation guidance during surgeries. This allows the surgeons to see in real‑time where their instruments are in the patient’s body by using an overlay on the 3D images of the patient’s anatomy. Procedures may include brain tumor resections, epilepsy surgeries, deep brain stimulation (DBS) implantations, spinal fusions, or sinus procedures.
  • End of Day: After the surgical procedure, the specialist ensures the equipment is cleaned and put away, including the instruments and the trays associated with the instruments. Depending on the day’s surgical schedule, the specialist may also provide assistance in other navigated surgeries within the current facility or at different locations.
About Us

META Dynamic is a medical device company that specializes in surgical navigation support with a 20‑year track record of growth and success. The company offers system rentals or clinical support for hospital‑owned navigation systems at locations across the country.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and assist radiology staff in performing necessary scans prior to or during surgery.
  • Educate and train physicians and hospital personnel, including OR staff, radiology, central sterile processing, biomedical, and information technologies staff on the use of IGS products and services.
  • Work closely with the regional manager to ensure the territory’s needs are being met while communicating case outcomes.
  • Act as the primary customer liaison, assess satisfaction and usage levels, and work to increase case volume in the territory.
  • Maintain system and equipment cleanliness.
  • Respond absolutely to requests for case coverage.
  • Occasional travel required.
Requirements
