Advanced Providers Role Scope
We have a growth opportunity for a Surgical Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice RN (APRN) who will enjoy:
· Unique, 1:1 training with neurosurgeons
· Growth and development- Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) program including the use of High Intensity Focus Ultrasound (HIFU) treatment for movement disorders
· Both clinic and OR time (1st Assist) for cranial and spine procedures
· Working with a team of advanced practitioners with an abundance of Neurosurgery experience
· Established practice and staff who take time with their patients
Shift - Full Time four 10-hour shifts, M-F. Hours may vary dependent upon case load. No call requirements, no weekends.

Qualifications
· Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Master’s program preferred.
· Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Connecticut.
· Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant or National Board Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
· RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assist) certification required for Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
· Preferred >1-year experience as a Surgical Physician Assistant in a Neurosurgery or an Orthopedic setting; 1st Assist in OR preferred

Advanced Practitioner Role Scope
The Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant will provide direct care to patients in the outpatient and inpatient setting in collaboration with physician. Must have ability to identify diagnostic information that should be considered emergent and communicate timely information to physician colleague.
The Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant, in collaboration with a licensed physician and in accordance the Nurse Practitioner’s scope of practice and collaborative relationships, prescribe, dispense and administer therapeutic and corrective measures. The provider should exhibit a passion for cardiology and be open to being part of a rapidly growing institute where adaptability is paramount.
Shift: 4-10 hour shifts, one weekend per month, no night call

Qualifications
Advanced Practitioner Requirements
· Graduate of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Master’s program preferred
· Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Connecticut
· Certification or eligible to be certified National Board Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse through AACN or ANCC.
· 3+ years of experience in a clinical area (such as cardiology) required
· Experience in cardiology preferred
