Staff Pharmacist - Acute Care (Days)

We are searching for a Staff Pharmacist -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will promote pharmaceutical care by managing the medication process, identifying and preventing potential drug-related problems, and resolving actual drug-related problems. Additionally, you perform the duties of a registered pharmacist. All responsibilities will be performed in a manner developmentally appropriate for the ages of patients served (0-adult).

Responsibilities:
  • Ensures medications meet the highest standards
  • Participates in the education of patients, caregivers, and the community
  • Supports patient safety systems
  • Checks all available means of communication including e-mail, mailbox, and voicemail every shift
  • Ensures the smooth running of the pharmacy and acts as a role model for technicians and other pharmacists as evidenced by lack of complaints, medication incident reports, and peer review
  • Maintains investigational drug records according to departmental policy
  • Contribute to the medication management process
  • Conduct discharge medication review (difficult to obtain, prescription accuracy) and counseling, ensuring that patients/caregivers understand their medication therapies upon discharge
  • Participates in study initiation, maintenance and closure

As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or Ph.D. in Pharmacy required
  • RPH certification from the state of Texas required
  • 2+ years hospital staff pharmacist experience preferred
  • 20 hours of training in compounding sterile products accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education or the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists preferred

    The Department of Ophthalmology at UNC – Chapel Hill is seeking a full‑time open rank oculoplastic/orbital surgeon. Academic rank and salary are negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

    Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

    MD or DO required. Candidates for this position should have completed a 12‑24 month post‑residency fellowship training in oculoplastic/orbital surgery. Requirements include graduation from an approved ophthalmic residency training program and satisfactory completion of a fellowship. Board certification or eligibility, and eligibility for licensure in North Carolina is required. Excellent training in surgery of the orbit is necessary.

    Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

    GENERAL ADULT GASTROENTEROLOGISTS

    Up to $200,000 Forgivable Loan (upon approval)

    Full-time annual salary range is $582,000 to $600,000 plus additional potential incentives up to $60,770*

    *Some incentive opportunities are estimates based on potential premium pay.

    Openings in Modesto/Stockton. ERCP a plus

    • There are currently 6 FTEs in the department with three more anticipated hires. 1 FTE is joining in 8-2022 so there will be 7 FTEs from next year.
    • We have approximately 40 supporting staff in the GI. Ancillary staff: There are 2 RN's and 1 LVN per procedural room. Along with a Unit Director, Unit manager and 2 charge RN's. 1 RN and 1 LVN are on call.
    • Clinic Consult is 30 min and follow up are 15 to 30 min.
    • On procedure days; there are up to 7 procedures in the morning and 6 procedures in the afternoon.
    • We locally offer ERCPs, Spyglass and EMR and fibro scans.
    • Modesto and Stockton clinics are 30 miles apart.
    • Modesto is hub for GI services in the CVA. The MOD hospital is attached to MOD MOB- procedural space is in the clinic space. In STK, the clinic is just 10 minutes from the hospital- St. Joseph Med Ctr (SJMC is co-owned by Kaiser and Dignity Health). Hospital patients for GI at SJMC are transferred to MOD.
    • 75% of Kaiser inpatient utilize Modesto hospital as MOD is our inpatient hub center.
    • Call structure Weekend is shared among docs and fair. When fully staffed, it will be one weekend every 9 weekends. Weekdays: Day time, we have one doc covering MOD and one in STK but for STK, you are mainly phone calls as patients are transferred to MOD. Weekday night. One MD is covering both STK and MOD- starts Fri at 6 pm until Mon 6 am.
    • There is ER residency program and other residents from UC system and students from Northstate and UC rotate. There is a teaching opportunity. There are opportunities to help teach/instruct at the new GI fellowship program at SFO.
    • We are looking for both general GI or ERCP advanced interest candidates.
