Overview

Faculty members provide mainly outpatient and minimal inpatient clinical care; teach medical students, residents, and fellows; and provide university/public service. Job Summary / Responsibilities

  • Provides internal medicine/hepatology services for the Queen’s Medical Center (QMC) patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting through direct patient care, education, and supervision of students and residents from the John A. Burns School of Medicine as well as assigned learners from other programs.
  • Participates in the development of the GI fellowship program at the Queen’s Medical Center.
  • Serves as a faculty member for the GI fellowship program at the Queen’s Medical Center.
  • Supports the vision and values to enhance the provision of quality health care and optimize the health status of QHS patients, and supports The Queen’s Medical Center’s (QMC) mission to fulfill the intent of Queen Emma and King Kamehameha IV to provide in perpetuity quality health care services to improve the well‑being of Native Hawaiians and all of the people of Hawaiʻi.

Minimum Qualifications

Education / Certification and Licensure

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Medicine or EC FMG certification.
  • Current board certification in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM). If not board certified, board certification must be obtained within two (2) years of entrance into the position.
  • Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Hawaii.

Experience

  • During the period of employment, shall be and remain a member of the applicable QHS hospitals’ medical staffs in good standing with appropriate privileges without restriction.
  • Qualified for an appointment on the faculty of the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine preferred.
  • One (1) year post residency experience preferred.

Clinical base annual salary: $287,798.00
