Job Summary

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer Manager leads the Manufacturing Engineering team, overseeing machining and special process development, CNC and CMM programming, tool and fixture design, and process validation. This role supports Value Stream leadership in productivity improvement, lead time reduction, and New Product Development (NPD) activities, ensuring all customer and internal cost requirements are met or exceeded.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee development and optimization of manufacturing processes including assembly, testing, tooling, fabrication, and SPC while ensuring compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and AS9100 standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement through setup reduction, visual standard work, cost‑reduction initiatives, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen activities aligned with Crane Business Systems (CBS).
  • Evaluate and approve engineering requests, determining feasibility, make/buy status, and workload priorities; collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure cost‑effective manufacturing for new and revised products.
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets; oversee justification, selection, and acquisition of capital equipment to support operational efficiency.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities through participation in IPTs and ensure successful internal manufacturing readiness.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to assigned personnel, ensuring adherence to company policies, work rules, and applicable Bargaining Unit Agreements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience demonstrating expertise in manufacturing engineering and process development.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of continuous improvement tools, raw materials, production processes, quality control, and cost optimization techniques.
  • Skills: Critical thinking, time management, decision-making, and excellent communication skills; ability to motivate and develop teams effectively.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Electro-mechanical, Industrial, or Mechanical

What You’ll Get To Do

Lead the Sentinel Program’s Manufacturing Engineers (ME) in Roy, Utah. Support the development of Command Systems. Serve as a member of the Sentinel Manufacturing leadership team, interfacing with other Manufacturing team members, customers and suppliers.

What The Role Entails

The Senior Construction Project Manager is responsible for overall project success. What You Will Get to Do

  • Prime leadership role for extended team of professionals assembled to safely deliver major capital construction projects to meet business needs. Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, operations, Finance and internal department leaders to assure project team fulfills the mission and objectives of the capital projects.
  • Provide direction and support teams responsible for the preparation of scopes of work, project delivery resource requirements, cost estimates and budgets, work plan schedule and milestones, quality control, and risk identification.

  • Reports status and variances. Creates action plans to meet objectives, budget and schedule. Implements change management routines to assess change requests, make recommendations, secure internal approvals, and manage change throughout the coursed of the project.
  • Assesses and quantify change requests to determine impacts to scope, budget, schedule, quality and risk. Demonstrates ability to identify project risks, develop risk mitigation and contingency plans, and implement action plans to reduce or eliminate project risks.

What You Bring to The Role

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, business, construction management or relevant field experience required.
  • A minimum of 15 years’ experience in General and/or Specialty Construction Project Management with 10+ years’ experience in data center or similar mission critical facilities construction
  • Experience in managing $300M+ projects
  • Experience in urban environments with difficult logistics and fast-track schedules
  • Experience in construction management, capital budget management, and knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of industry standards, building codes and safety standards including fire protection regulations
  • Ability to demonstrate strong capability and expertise in Primavera, MS Project, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

  • Experience with:
    • HV, MV, and LV systems

The Sr. Project Manager (Project Manager II) is expected to manage multiple Campus Projects simultaneously ranging in construction value from $5M to $100M. The Project Manager II’s responsibilities include reviewing and summarizing project data, conducting field checks for compliance of construction with design documents and DSA requirements, monitoring, reporting and providing recommendations and solutions to the College Project Director and PMO relative to current project status, delivery objectives, schedule, costs, budget, staffing, delays, disputes, changes, and compliance with SOP and other construction requirements. Based on direct observations of conditions in the field and familiar with all aspects of the design and construction process and supporting documentation, the Project Manager II identifies risks, proposes approaches to mitigating their impacts and maintains a risk register database. The Project Manager II coordinates with the College, Design Team and others to develop and execute construction phasing and swing space plans and tracks progress against those plans. The Project Manager II works with the Design Team, contractors, inspectors, DSA, and others to resolve complex, construction‑related issues in a timely manner and within budget. The Program Manager II directly oversees the close‑out of Campus Projects for compliance with the requirements of DSA, District, and PMO including coordination with the College’s relocation project manager of activities related to FF&E, asset disposition/surplus, and other matters pertaining to relocation.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7 years’ experience in management of multiple construction projects
  • 2 years of the foregoing 7 years of experience in educational facility design and construction
  • BA or BS in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management or a closely related field
  • 4 years additional qualifying experience in excess to the minimum stated above may be substituted for the required education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within a large capital improvement program and familiarity with relevant provisions of the California Public Contract Code
  • Experience in formal construction partnering
  • A current and valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California Architectural Board or as a Professional Engineer by the California State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors
  • A current and valid Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI)
  • Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes or similar processes
  • Knowledge of all parts of the project life cycle, to include planning, design, construction and closeout
  • Experience in alternative delivery methods
  • Ability to multi‑task, solve problems and successfully deliver projects

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and implement solution strategies to meet customer and design requirements
  • Execute new product development projects according to solid project plans and project management principles (scope, timeline, milestones and risk-based decision making)
  • Test and verify new designs

Minimum

  • Ability to specify and evaluate electrical components based on performance, lifetime, and availability
  • Experienced in schematic capture and printed circuit board layout using Altium Designer, PADS or equivalent
  • Familiarity with development and debug tools. Demonstrated ability to use a multi-meter, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, and logic analyzer
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills are essential
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong leadership presence with ability to influence and empower others
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and personal accountability

Preferred:

  • 3+ years medical device experience
  • Experience managing or leading others in a similar capacity, and/or demonstrated experience working cross-functionally in the engineering environment.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems, microprocessors, and communication protocols
  • Understanding of EMI and UL requirements.
  • Experienced in the design of experiments, data analysis, statistical methods and presentation of results.
  • Experience with FPGA technologies, tools, and circuit designs.
