The Opportunity

The SAAM Group is seeking a Lead Program Manager with an engineering background to manage a portfolio of programs focused on modeling and simulation as well as autonomy development. You will manage multi-disciplinary teams of researchers, scientists, and engineers spread across multiple STR campuses to meet cost, schedule, and performance objectives on innovative, complex, and challenging national security programs. The attorney will manage cases through all stages of litigation, appear in court and other legal proceedings as needed, provide practical legal guidance, and supervise and support junior attorneys and legal support staff to ensure matters are handled efficiently and effectively.


Responsibilities

  • Manage a broad caseload across multiple practice areas such as, but not limited to, real estate law, family law, business/corporate law, estate planning, employment law, and general litigation
  • Conduct thorough legal research using tools like LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies and ensure adherence to procedural laws
  • Draft and review legal documents including contracts, motions, pleadings, discovery requests, deposition summaries, and trial briefs with precision and clarity
  • Prepare for court depositions and trial proceedings by developing case strategies, organizing evidence, and coordinating witness testimony
  • Negotiate settlements and legal terms effectively on behalf of clients while maintaining professional integrity and advocacy standards
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and communicate complex legal concepts clearly and confidently
  • Manage junior staff members and contribute to the development of the firm’s legal practices by sharing expertise in areas such as litigation procedures and case management


Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school;
  • Admitted to the CA State Bar is required
  • Extensive experience in litigation including trial preparation, court depositions, motion practice, and courtroom advocacy
  • Proven expertise in diverse legal fields such as real estate law, family law, landlord/tenant law, business/corporate law, estate planning and trust, and general & commercial litigation
  • Strong research skills utilizing LexisNexis and Westlaw platforms for statutory legal research and case analysis
  • Excellent legal writing skills demonstrated through drafting pleadings, contracts, motions, and other legal documents
  • Exceptional negotiation abilities combined with strategic thinking to achieve favorable outcomes for clients
  • Familiarity with procedural laws governing civil litigation processes at both state and federal levels
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced law office environment with effective case management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with clients and colleagues while maintaining professionalism under pressure

This role will ideally be based in the Charlotte, NC area, our preference is that you're located within a commutable distance. Other East Coast locations will be considered and the role will involve national and international travel.

About the role

This role will put you at the heart of Engine’s Client Solutions function, where you’ll be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of the Engine platform for our clients. You’ll work on large-scale programmes, end-to-end, where you’ll be expected to manage day-to-day delivery, focusing on a particular functional workstream (eg. Onboarding or Payments & Cards). You’ll work with clients to understand the challenges they face and help tackle them with a technology-centred approach. Through this, you’ll develop a strong understanding of the Engine product and digital banking, applying its uses to markets around the world.

We’re looking for versatile, adaptable individuals, who enjoy the challenge of a varied and collaborative role. You’ll work in tandem with the Product owners and Engineering functions to design and implement solutions that meet client needs. You’ll enjoy problem solving, working with a wide variety of stakeholders, and supporting our clients throughout their transformation journeys as well as strong project management skills. You’ll be comfortable working with clients at all stages of their journey from pre-sales through to implementation.

What you'll get to do

  • Build strong relationships at all levels of the client organisation, through pre-sales to implementation
  • Understand client vision, challenges and priorities, applying your knowledge of the Engine product
  • Work closely with our Product and solution archiecture team to iterate the US product roadmap, advocating for the needs and expectations of our US based clients 
  • Be responsible for the delivery of an area of the solution with a client, representing the client’s needs and priorities in internal decision making and planning
  • Coordinate solution delivery with Engineering in line with programme timelines
  • Support the programme transition from delivery into Run, sharing your knowledge of the client and setting up the Run team for success
  • Contribute to the success of the Delivery function as it scales, sharing your learnings from client implementations and establishing our Engine delivery methodologies

Requirements

Your background

  • You have worked in client facing roles, in a consulting role, or at a technology company
  • You have experience running workshops or demoing technology with clients 
  • You have some experience in financial services and technology delivery
  • You have experience delivering complex programmes 
  • You can  rapidly understand client problems and present solutions in a structured and informative manner
  • You take ownership and know when to seek external support for risks and issues you identify
  • We are looking for someone who will be excited by the potential for Engine’s technology to transform banking in different markets around the world

  • You can apply a structured approach to complex or ambiguous problems
