Training Program Lead, Autonomous Driving (Global)
Moove
Las Vegas, NV

Job Description

Job Description
About Moove AV

At Moove AV, we don’t just manage fleets; we operate the critical infrastructure that makes autonomous transportation a reality. As a premier partner to AV industry pioneers like Waymo, we manage high-tech autonomous vehicle (AV) depots where precision, uptime, and—above all—safety are the benchmarks of our success.

The Role

Every autonomous vehicle validation program depends on drivers who are trained, tested, and certified to the same high standard—every driver, every market—with safety as the non-negotiable baseline. This role owns the training program for Moove’s Validation Operations (worldwide). You will set that standard and hold it accountable, regardless of market size or launch timing. Training provides the opportunity to set Moove AV’s culture from the outset: get it right, and safety and quality become habits from day one, not rules enforced later.

This is a foundational hire requiring a systems-thinker with a programmatic mindset. What we establish now is what the company will operationalize against as new markets come online. The AV Training Manager will manage this function not as a series of isolated classes, but as a scalable, evolving program—communicating effectively with all levels of management and clients regarding plans, schedules, and adherence to training guidelines to align with our overarching business roadmaps.

The program covers two audiences: validation drivers and the in-market supervisory roles running a validation site day-to-day. This role will personally certify the in-market Training Managers who deliver those classes, and certify a new market's first team before it goes live.

Key ResponsibilitiesStandardization & Quality Control
  • Programmatic Ownership: Serve as the ultimate owner of training quality as your core KPI—measured through certification integrity, audit findings, and cross-market performance trends.

  • Curriculum Management: Own and continuously iterate the curriculum, assessment frameworks, and certification bar every market trains and tests against, establishing clear feedback loops for continuous improvement.

  • Safety Assurance: Hold safe driving behavior to a non-negotiable standard with zero exceptions for market pressures or pace.

  • Cross-Functional Auditing: Audit local training programs directly. Partner seamlessly with Safety and Operations to identify performance gaps, assess risks, and evolve the curriculum programmatically.

  • Leadership Onboarding: Own the curriculum that onboards new in-market Managers and Supervisors—covering systems, SOPs, processes, and how to manage against critical KPIs like mileage targets and quality metrics.

  • Local Empowerment: Empower local teams to build on the curriculum for their specific market nuances, systematically capturing their learnings to update the global standard.

Training Delivery
  • Hands-on Certification: Teachback-certified; personally deliver Train-the-Trainer (TTT) and certify the first team in any new market before it goes live. While your focus is building the program, this direct delivery ensures you remain anchored to the reality of the work.

Training Planning & Roadmap Execution
  • Capacity & Milestone Planning: Drive the overarching training roadmap for every market—managing capacity, sequencing, and timing—while local teams own the day-to-day execution against that plan.

  • Stakeholder Alignment: Align interdependencies across Safety, Workforce Planning, Fleet Ops, and Local Ops. Ensure the training plan accurately reflects real safety requirements, hiring timelines, and fleet deployment schedules.

  • Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify bottlenecks or deviations from the launch schedule. Make sure local teams have the resources they need, and act as the strategic escalation path when execution strays from the plan.

  • Reporting & Visibility: Set the programmatic standard for how markets track and report (templates, dashboards, cohort rosters) and oversee it centrally. Certification status and progress must be visible, consistent, and actionable for leadership.

Training Infrastructure & Readiness
  • Global Infrastructure Standards: Define the requirements for facilitation space, closed courses, vehicle equipment, and the hardware needed to run training.

  • Deployment Pipeline: Oversee the infrastructure readiness pipeline. Direct local teams to secure facilities and equipment well ahead of key milestones through procurement, supplier management, and local partner relationships.

What You'll Need
  • Education & Certification: Bachelor’s Degree required. A Program Management certification (e.g., PMI-PgMP, PMP, or CPTM) is preferred, or equivalent experience managing complex initiatives.

  • Experience: 3–5 years in AV operations or AV training. Proven experience building, scaling, running, or delivering training programs.

  • Programmatic Mindset: Ability to map dependencies, anticipate risks, and drive cross-functional roadmaps without formal authority, all while keeping a laser focus on day-to-day training quality.

  • Domain Expertise: Experience training, coaching, or mentoring validation/safety drivers, ideally with TTT or multi-site standardization work. Deep fluency in AV validation operations, disengagement protocols, and data logging.

  • Safety-First Track Record: A demonstrated history of balancing safety and operations, consistently defaulting to safety-first decisions even under launch pressures.

  • Curriculum Design: Comfort designing validation driver curriculum, with the ability to deliver it live when needed (e.g., new market launches, TTT sessions).

  • Sharp Audit Instincts: Able to critically assess a trainer's delivery and overall program efficacy, not just an individual driver's performance.

  • Change Agent: A bias against the status quo. Always pushing to improve quality, efficacy, or cost, and willing to speak up and drive change when KPIs deviate.

  • Travel: Comfortable with up to 40% travel—domestic or international—to deliver training in-market, audit local programs, or host classes at a Moove hub.

Who You'll Be Working With

Directly reporting to our Head of Validation Operations and closely partnering with our Central Training & Development Team, as well as cross-functional leaders across Safety, Fleet Operations, and Market Launch teams.

Why Join Moove AV?

You will be joining a team that is literally building the future of movement. We offer the chance to lead in an industry where your work directly impacts public trust in autonomous technology. If you thrive in environments where the bar is set high and the mission is clear, we want to talk. We welcome people from diverse backgrounds who seek the opportunity to help build a future where everyone and everything can move independently.
