Performs diagnostic studies and radiopharmaceutical therapeutic administration by utilizing Nuc Med and/or PED/CT equipment by acquiring and processing patient exams in accordance with accreting bodies and/or manufacturer guidelines and as outlined in department protocols. Reviews cases with the radiologist when appropriate. Reviews labs and patient history to perform correct exam. Administers IV radiopharmaceuticals by means of existing IV line or by performing veni-puncture and placing IV line. Transfers and verifies image data in PACS and provides necessary medical history and information for Radiologist interpretation. Utilizes the web servers and email systems to send exams for preliminary readings after hours.
Responsible for maintaining imaging equipment and workplace environment including maintaining supply inventories and orderliness of work area. Recognizes malfunctions and service needs and reports service needs in a timely manner.
Ensures patient, visitor and environmental safety. Reports safety events immediately including those that are a near miss.

Overview
The Registered Radiologic Technologist is a professional care giver who assumes responsibility of patients for a designated time frame and to provide care, specifically in the Heart & Vascular Institute. The patient population consists of those requiring an invasive cardiology or invasive radiology study. Adjunctive tools to complete the above procedures including but not limited to ICUS, FFR/iFR, Lithotripsy, Laser, Rota, Impella, IABP, OCT, and CTO.

Overview
When unit is full, LPN will work with RNs with highest acuity or will be paired with an RN who has a heavy patient load. When the UNL has patients, the LPN will be paired with the UNL to assist with the UNL patient load. LPN tasks may include oral meds, IV piggyback meds, trach care, dressing changes, documentation on assessments and care plans after the RN has completed the first assessment and initiated the care plan.

• Number of beds on unit: 43
• Patient population (age, diagnosis, specifics about unit): NT7 is 43- bed unit specializing in the care of acute and chronic digestive surgical patients. We are a bariatric certified unit by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Surgical patients on this unit includes trunk trauma patients, as well high acuity surgical advance care patients. We care for patients with surgical intervention needs from Oral Maxillary Facial Surgery (OMFS) traveling through to Colon Rectal Surgeries. With Carle being a level trauma center most regional trauma patients will be admitted to this unit.
• Nurse to Patient ratio: 1:4-6 for surgical/medical patients and 1:3 with surgical advanced care patients

Implements plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Modifies plan of care based upon continuous evaluation.Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents.Communicates with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues. Offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers, and confers with colleagues to expand knowledge base. Identifies own learning needs and takes initiative to begin appropriate solution.Fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies.Floats to various inpatient units including Medical-Surgical, Oncology, Orthopedic, Advanced Care, and ICUs (if applicable). Completes Unit Nurse Leader Training, as needed. Provides direct nursing care, collaborates with other multidiscipline team members to provide patient care to various patient population. Conducts and documents assessments, nursing diagnoses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care Precept staff from various units as needed.
