Job Summary      

The Director of Solar Design & Engineering is responsible for leading multidisciplinary engineering teams supporting utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects. The ideal candidate has experience leading engineering strategy, design execution, interconnection coordination, and cross-functional collaboration in an EPC or utility-scale renewable energy environment. This position is accountable for managing a safe, effective, and efficient operation and adhering to the Company values, policies and procedures. The Director of Solar & Engineering is directly accountable for the satisfaction of safety, clients and financial performance of their assigned business unit and assigned projects. This person contributes to business development and the ongoing development of the Company’s capability to compete in the marketplace. The Director of Solar & Engineering works closely with and communicates openly with the Vice President/Market Leader to ensure the success of the business unit.

  • Perform site assessment and mapping to generate accurate panel layout designs, as needed
  • Review full construction drawing sets and engineering specifications for projects during permitting, interconnection, and construction
  • Provide QA and QC during the pre-design, design, and closeout of PV solar and Storage projects
  • Ensure accuracy after allowing any project to continue through the pipeline
  • Participate in the creation of design standards for future projects.

Experience 

Extensive experience managing and directing a team, 5 or more years of experience using Utility Scale, commercial solar design, strong knowledge of electrical principles, low and medium voltage distribution design, protection and relaying design, SCADA design; familiar with a variety of solar equipment and balance of systems for the proper design of PV systems; proficient in Helioscope, PV Syst, AutoCAD 2D and 3D or Revit, proficient in MS Office Suite; excellent communication, strategic thinking and analytical skills, impeccable attention to detail, strong sense of ownership, excellent time management skills; able to work independently with minimal supervision; able and willing to collaborate with the team. Should have experience with integrating engineering modeling with online MRP/ERP systems to create and validate sock-keeping units (SKU's), writing detailed and accurate support documentation (e.g., QC checklist, install guide, equipment commissioning guide), create design and permitting packages; participation in the development, design, QA/QC and implementation of PV systems, collaborate with utility engineers in the interconnection process

  • Provide a clean workplace which includes following various cleaning checklists and following appropriate health and safety standards

  • Assist other team members and management with shift duties and store procedures

  • Responsible for supervision of team members and checklist execution during assigned shifts
  • Provide follow-up to the Yogurt Mountain Manager on Team Member performance
  • Assists in training and development of new and existing Team Members
  • Responsible for executing orders and inventories and receiving, as directed by the Yogurt Mountain Manager
  • Ensure the store is prepared for inspections from home office and the Yogurt Mountain Franchise Team
  • Responsible for all cash transactions
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, up to 40 hours per week

Operational Responsibilities

  • Maximize profits and customer service by operating the store in adherence with all Yogurt Mountain policies and procedures
  • Monitor the quality of the products served, as well as the quality of customer service
  • Train and develop associates and managers in all areas of the store
  • Order and maintain adequate stock levels
  • Maintain store standards to comply with policies, directives, and local Health Department codes
  • Ensure customer satisfaction on a daily basis
  • Ensure that all customers are greeted, invited back, and satisfied with their purchases
  • Maintain all aspects of the store's operational requirements in order to ensure that exemplary customer service standards are achieved daily
