Overview
Under the supervision of a registered physical therapist, occupational therapist, or speech therapist assists in the delivery of therapy services in compliance with federal regulation and rules promulgated by the Missouri State Board of registration for the Healing Arts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, guiding principles and mercy service standards.

Position Details:

Schedule: Monday-Friday, Afternoons

Shift: 16 hours weekly

Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Licensure: None required
Experience: None required
Certifications: BLS or obtain within 90 days of hire
Other: Demonstrated skills in the practical application of therapeutic procedures. Good interpersonal skills. Patient care may include lifting requirements in the 30-50 pound range and require extensive bending and standing. :May occasionally work with office equipment;i.e. copy machines, telephones, computer. Must demonstrate competency in equipment used for the delivery of modalities and patient care.

Duties Job Summary:

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, and within the context of the Nursing Professional Practice Framework, the LPN provides quality and cost-effective direct care for patients/families within a unit, service or other primary area of practice. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide support with select administrative tasks, including patient registration, check-in and check-out procedures, and handling incoming phone calls in a courteous and efficient manner.

• Emergency and/or Critical Care experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities include coordinating daily workflow and serving as lead when leadership is unavailable. Minimum Requirements:

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Sonography and completed required clinical hours

Experience: 2 years of relevant experience OR graduate of Bachelor degree program

Certifications/Registrations: ARDMS/ARRT/CCI and 2 applicable advanced registries/certifications within the applicable work area; Basic Life Support (BLS)

🩺 What You’ll Do

As a Medical Assistant in Primary Care, you’ll be a vital part of the patient experience and care team. Your responsibilities include:

Preparing patients for provider visits using the Advanced Standard Rooming Process:

• Documenting chief complaints
• Taking vitals, reviewing history and allergies
• Completing medication reconciliation
• Addressing care gaps (e.g., screenings, diabetic eye exams)
• Rechecking elevated blood pressures
• Documenting preventive visit details in Epic

🔬 Performing in-office testing:

• Blood draws

• EKGs

Collaborating with providers and clinical teams to support care plans

Qualifications

Primary Care Assistant – MA
