Registered Nurse In The Emergency Department

CentraState Medical Center is currently seeking a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. This role administers culturally sensitive nursing care to assigned patients that is in accordance with ANA standards, the NJ Practice Act, Joint Commission, professional standards and established hospital and Nursing Department policy and procedures in accordance with evidence based nursing practice. Utilizes the Nursing Process in providing patient centered care. Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing care through the analysis of nurse sensitive indicators and patient outcomes. Orientation will include satisfactory completion of CPR Certification, IV Course, and Departmental Orientation. A patient focused care model utilizing a multidisciplinary approach is used as the method to deliver patient care. Orientation and annual renewals will include satisfactory completion of non-violent crisis intervention.

Responsibilities

  • Provides considerate respectful care focused upon the patient's individual needs to ensure patient satisfaction.
  • Affirms the patient's right to make decisions regarding his/her medical care, including the decision to discontinue treatment, to the extent permitted by law.
  • Successfully completes life-span education as appropriate.
  • Obtains a complete nursing history and baseline assessment that is systematic, consistent and continuous. This assessment is communicated effectively utilizing Hand-off policy and documented.
  • Documents results of patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, care plan nursing interventions and evaluation and patient progress in medical record according to hospital/nursing policy and the Nursing Standards of Care/Practice for the specific patient type.
  • Appropriately analyzes patient information /assessment to determine nursing diagnosis and needs for appropriate nursing care, medical intervention or services of other clinical professionals.
  • Identifies patient problems and formulates nursing diagnosis according to physical, psychological, spiritual/cultural and educational needs in conjunction with a multi disciplinary approach.
  • Consistently includes patient and family in the development of an individualized plan of care.
  • Administers medication as needed following CSHS policies and manufacturer's instructions.
  • Takes immediate and appropriate actions in the event of a medication variance occurrence.
  • Recognizes changes in patient condition and/or emergency situations and takes immediate and appropriate actions.
  • Participates in unit conferences to discuss quality issues and quality improvement strategies. Offers ideas to improve processes for patient safety.
  • Delegates components of care to non-professional caregivers as appropriate. Follows up on any delegated components of care and assignments given.
  • Makes decisions that demonstrate knowledge of nursing practice; utilizes sound nursing judgment in clinical and patient care management situations.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills in the care of patients and in the coordination of care to assure the best patient outcomes.
  • Follows CSHS Pain Assessment policy.
  • Successfully functions as a Resource Nurse, making decisions in the absence of the Clinical Leader and/or the Nurse Manager.
  • Supports cost containment through efficient use of equipment, supplies and other pertinent resources.
  • Recognizes adverse reaction to medications and takes immediate and appropriate action.
  • Evaluates the patient's needs for discharge and accesses appropriate resources for the patient and/or family.
  • Consistently provides written and verbal education to patients and/or families.
  • Successfully functions as a preceptor/mentor to students and new staff members.
  • Consistently promotes teamwork within the unit and between departments.
  • Consistently adheres to hospital policy regarding the insertion, maintenance and removal of foley catheters, if applicable.
  • Able to verbalize and demonstrate proper rationale and techniques surrounding all aspects of indwelling urinary catheter care as per policy #4668.
  • Fulfills the requirements for competencies and completion of annual mandatories surrounding indwelling urinary catheters.
  • Supports operations by demonstrating ability and willingness to float between units as an RN and provides 1:1 patient observation when deemed necessary

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Nursing required
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required within 3 years of hire.
  • Graduate of CSMC Residency program, or Minimum of 1 year acute care RN experience required (Stepdown, Tele, or ED experience preferred).
  • Previous related experience preferred.
  • Current NJ RN license required.
  • CPR Certification required.
  • Stroke education requirements to be achieved within first year then maintained thereafter.
  • Specialty credentialing required to be achieved within the first year and maintained thereafter include Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), 8 hours Trauma Education, CPR and CSMC IV Certification.
  • Specialty professional nursing certification preferred.

Reporting to the Director of Nursing, Nurse Supervisor, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the wellbeing of all of the people served under his/her care. Accordingly, the RN provides care management, medical consultation/triage services, medical education to the people served at the specified program and/or their family/guardians as well as education/training to and observation of staff members who have been delegated nursing duties. Medical care coordination is for all the people in the assigned program(s) is accomplished through ensuring that: appropriate medical treatment and follow-up are provided, training and observation of AMAP staff and the Certified Nurse Assistants in their performance of nursing duties are conducted, on-call consultation and triage are performed and participation in program planning and/or treatment plan meetings takes place.

Essential Accountabilities:

  • Coordinates medical pre-admission evaluation and screening of prospective people with disabilities.
  • Reviews and updates the person's pre-admission evaluations within thirty (30) days of placement.
  • Develops the annual Nursing Care Plan. Reviews and revises the Nursing Care Plan at least quarterly.
  • Compiles and/or tracks all health problems (acute/chronic) and prepares/updates Nursing Care Plans as needed.
  • Transcribes medication orders and dispenses daily medication to all people served as indicated.
  • Conducts monthly reviews of the medication record of each person served to monitor potential adverse reactions, allergies, interactions, contraindications, rationality and determine the need for laboratory test modifications. Advises the physician of any medication errors or issues and indicates/recommends changes.
  • Reviews all consults and/or medical reports with recommendations and meets with the Residence Manager, Nursing Supervisor on a weekly basis to ensure that all follow up is completed.
  • Reviews special dietary orders and ensures accurate documentation of blood pressure and weight for each person served.
  • Provides first aid and daily nursing care to the people served as needed. Monitors each person's medical condition through observation and examination.
  • Provide on-going care management and treatment of medical issues as prescribed by the Nursing Care Plans and/or physicians instructions, including but not limited to, providing soaks, changing dressings and managing G tubes and colostomy bags etc.
  • Escorts/accompanies individuals on medical or psychiatric appointments as needed to ensure appropriate exchange of information.
  • Participates in the weekly consult review meetings and ensures that all appointments/evaluations are completed in a timely manner.
  • Responds in a timely fashion (within hour) to all contacts from the residence requesting medical consultation/guidance and directs medical intervention until the situation is resolved. Serves as assigned on emergency medical response team for the Day Habilitation programs.
  • Shares rotating on-call nursing responsibilities for after-hours and weekend medical triage and consultation.
  • Ensures that the Residence Manager and staff are appropriately trained on all aspects of care for acute and chronic conditions. Provides and documents on-going staff training in the following areas:

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • 48 years of relevant experience, including proven experience as a Project Manager delivering complex projects in construction or manufacturing.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to synthesize complex information for executive and client audiences.
  • Demonstrated accountability for end-to-end project delivery in a design-build, modular, or integrated delivery environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex modeling, Power Query, pivot tables, and dashboards).
  • Advanced proficiency in scheduling, with demonstrated experience across multiple scheduling platforms (MS Project, Primavera P6, and Smartsheet).
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Bluebeam.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams across design, manufacturing, and construction disciplines.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and manage complex schedules.
  • Experience with client interaction, reporting, and expectation management.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-growth, innovative organization.
  • Ability to travel up to 5 days per month depending on project phase and assignment.

St. Ann's Community Management Company, Inc. (SAMCI) is currently looking to hire a Billing Specialist to accurately process Fee Revenues for Agency through to timely collection. This position involves a "hybrid" work schedule; working occasionally remotely or onsite with Clients.

Job Description:

  • Prepares and submits billing claims which include posting monthly receipts and adjustments, reconciling receipts, preparing refunds, and processing monthly statements.
  • Maintain Clearinghouse and/or Electronic Medical Record as needed for all eligibility and billing needs.
  • Performs routine analysis and follow up billing of outstanding accounts.
  • Ensures proper procedures related to Medicare, Medicaid and other third-party payers
  • Prepares All Third-Party Insurance bills for submission or patient billing
  • Data Entry of Cash Receipts by Entity
  • Responds to patients and responsible parties' billing questions.
  • Proactively works aging reports and write appeal letters when applicable.
  • Identify issues attributing to account delinquency and communicate with Supervisor
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Core Tasks Credentialing and Insurance Enrollment:

  • Maintain provider rosters

Candidate Requirements:

  • Local candidates only
  • Associate's Degree with One (1) to Two (2) years of billing and computer experience
  • Medical Billing Certification preferred
  • Knowledge of Medical Billing or equivalent required
  • Must obtain Medical Billing certification within one year of employment. Employer paid certification with 2 year commitment
  • Must maintain active Medical Billing certification while employed with SAMCI. This includes completing required continuing education credits.
