As a Director in EY-Parthenon’s Strategy & Execution – Deal Technology practice focusing on Health IT, you will lead high-impact engagements that drive both cost optimization and top-line growth across complex transactions and corporate transformations. You will work with C-suite executives, private equity clients, and IT leadership to identify, plan, and execute healthcare technology-driven strategies that enable innovative delivery of patient care, operational efficiencies with health plans, optimize enterprise IT platforms and optimize operational costs while also accelerating revenue and digital innovation during mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and carve-outs as well as value creation, enterprise re‑imagine, and technology transformation initiatives. This role blends deep IT expertise with strategic insight to deliver measurable value through cost transformation, digital/AI enablement, operational efficiency, and tech‑enabled growth initiatives.
Within EY-Parthenon's Strategy and Execution sub service line, the Deal Technology Health practice works on the most complex and high‑profile healthcare transactions, across a broad portfolio of clients. We are a group of experienced industry professionals with a background in healthcare enterprise technology who are serial transaction and strategic advisers, which enables us to bring a wealth of deep sector and functional knowledge to our clients. This role is focused on advising the Health sector. As a team, we prepare and execute separation and integration plans, identify ideas and sources of value enhancement, as well as advise on risk mitigation and the successful change of enterprise technology platforms, operations, functions, and people.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead value‑creation technology projects that span cost optimization and growth enablement.
- Guide clients through IT‑focused strategies that enhance operational efficiency and unlock new revenue opportunities.
- Advise senior stakeholders, collaborate across functions, and apply emerging technologies (clinical and revenue cycle management platforms, AI, cloud, data analytics) to deliver measurable business impact.
- Maintain a strong commercial mindset and balance efficiency with innovation.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Information and Operations Management, Analytics or related field and 5 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 3 years of related work experience.
- Experience in a healthcare professional services firm or health technology company, IT strategy, digital transformation, and transaction advisory.
- Expertise in the following IT skillsets:
- Hands‑on technical implementation experience of major acute EHR platforms (Epic or Cerner) and/or ambulatory platforms (Epic, AthenaHealth, NextGen, eClinicalworks, etc.)
- Enterprise architecture of clinical platforms and revenue cycle management platforms including integration engines such as Cloverleaf, Mirth Connect, or Boomi
- Enterprise or solution architecture for modern enterprise/back‑office and admin application platforms
- Software‑centric product environments (SaaS, cloud native, API‑based ecosystems)
- Software architecture and custom application development (e.g., Java, C#, Python, APIs, and data‑lake platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Fabric)
- Network infrastructure architecture and design (LAN/WLAN, Internet Edge, Zero Trust Security Framework), and SD‑WAN
- Azure AD, EntraID, MFA, PAM/IAM experience – a plus
- Certifications in TOGAF®, Agile Scrum (CSM), or ITIL – highly desired.
- Proven experience in cost optimization (e.g., AI/Digital Transformation, IT synergy planning, post‑merger integration or carve‑out execution) and in tech‑driven growth initiatives (e.g., implementing a new digital product, scaling technology to deliver excellence of patient, provider, and employee experience).
- Ability to synthesize complex technical, financial, and operational data into clear, actionable insights; balance cost efficiency with innovative tech‑driven growth strategies.
- Comprehensive understanding of IT cost structures – including TCO, shared services, outsourcing, and digital transformation levers and an ability to convert opportunities into dollar impact.
- Experience in merger & acquisition contexts – e.g., involvement in IT due diligence, IT separation or integration projects, or identifying technology synergies in deals.
- Leadership & Soft Skills – lead teams, drive change, excellent client‑facing skills, influence senior executives.
- Must reside in or be commutable to the office location.
- Willingness to travel and work excess of standard hours when necessary.
Desired (Ideal) Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MBA, Masters in Computer Science/Engineering, Data Analytics, etc.)
- Familiarity with emerging tech such as AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot), IoT, advanced data analytics.
- Knowledge of leveraging firm‑approved AI tools in business settings.
- Strong networking and thought leadership presence (e.g., speaking at conferences, publishing).

What We Offer You
We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $205,000 to $235,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
