The maintenance technician performs highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the site's business goals and objectives.

Requirements:

This is a hands-on technical position responsible for rigging new and pre-owned boats, installing outboard engines, controls, steering systems, electronics, accessories, and completing final setup before customer delivery.

We're looking for someone with previous hands-on marine rigging experience who understands both the mechanical and electrical sides of a boat. The ideal candidate takes pride in clean installations, organized wiring, attention to detail, and making sure every system operates correctly before the boat leaves the dealership.

What You'll Do

Outboard Engine Rigging & Installation

  • Remove and install outboard engines according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Complete new boat rigging, repowers, and engine installations.
  • Install and configure throttle and shift controls, gauges, wiring harnesses, and related components.
  • Install and configure hydraulic and mechanical steering systems.
  • Properly route and secure wiring, cables, hoses, and rigging components for a clean, professional installation.

Rate of pay depends on qualifications.Job DescriptionJOB FUNCTIONThe Water Operations & Maintenance Technician I position is an entry level position responsible for monitoring equipment, operating equipment, recording data, collecting samples, and system process control, in compliance with regulatory agency guidelines.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAnalyzes and monitors potable water production and treatment, and reverse osmosis treatment system processes, and identifies and implements simple process adjustments to ensure optimum performance of plant.Operates and maintains process equipment at facilities and submits work orders for corrective maintenance to be performed.Checks engines, generators, pumps, settling tanks, filters, chemical feed systems, and other equipment.Records readings, changes charts, regulates and adjusts processes to meet changing operational needs.Collects, preserves, and properly stores samples for laboratory analysis.Monitors and performs housekeeping duties to insure a safe working environment.Performs basic process control measurements, testing of DO, pH and Residual Analysis meters, etc.Lubricates, dismantles, and assembles parts and equipment to include utilizing impact wrenches for pretreatment filter removal and the operation of crane system for calcite loading into vessels.Participates in the troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of a variety of equipment including pumps, piping and valves.Calculates basic level mathematics involving water production and treatment activities.Performs emergency chemical release responses, containment, and evacuation procedures.Participates in conducting regular tours of the facilities.Establishes and maintains effective working relationships and public relations.Participates in various special projects.Performs other duties as assigned.DECISION MAKINGThe Water Operations & Maintenance Technician I works under general supervision.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSHigh School Diploma or GED.TCEQ Class D Water Operator License within 6 months and Class C Groundwater Treatment Operator License within 12 months of hire.Valid Class C Texas Driver's License.Pass a physical examination for Chemical Hazardous Material Responses and Respiratory Protection.Pass position specific physical testing.Ability to report to work on time, maintain a good attendance record, and work all designated work schedules.JOB DIMENSIONSContact with internal and external customers, and contractors.Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing.Ability to use word processing software and perform basic mathematical calculations.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONSPhysical requirements include lifting/carrying up to 55 pounds occasionally and pushing/pulling a maximum force of 40 pounds. Subject to standing, sitting, walking, climbing, bending, crawling, squatting, kneeling and working in cramped and strained positions for long periods of time to perform job scope.Working conditions are primarily outside with frequent exposure to inclement weather; water production and treatment activities; mechanical, electrical, chemical and confined space hazards; offensive fumes; excessive noise; deep excavations; and animals, snakes and poisonous insects. Required to comply with requirements as specified in applicable regulations for personal protective equipment, including clearance for use of respiratory protection and other associated equipment.
