Practice Details

Salary: $542,545

Specialized Practice: 100% pediatric anesthesiology with a wide variety of complex and routine cases. We perform 16,000 anesthetics per year, all surgical service lines, except burns and transplants. Shift-based model with very flexible scheduling. For full time, 184 shifts per year, inclusive of all call shifts and just 17 in-house overnight call shifts. Time off and call scheduling is transparent and equitable amongst all group members. Ample opportunity for highly lucrative extra shifts. Choose your own case assignments. Solo practice with opportunity for occasional medical direction - 1:1 with CA-2 resident and 1:2 with CRNAs.

Collaborative Environment: Work with our dedicated group of anesthesiologists, advanced practice providers, and subspecialty surgeons, within our safety-driven culture and excellent team communication. Focus on mentorship and continuous professional development.

  • Participate in call coverage and inpatient nephrology services as assigned.
  • Perform and/or assist with interventional nephrology procedures, including:
    • Fistulograms
    • Angioplasty of dialysis access
    • Tunneled dialysis catheter placements and removals
    • Temporary dialysis catheter placements
    • Paracentesis procedures
    • Ultrasound-guided vascular access procedures
    • Additional interventional nephrology procedures based on training and credentialing
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation within the electronic medical record.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and dialysis facility medical management.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding kidney disease prevention and treatment options.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Nephrology Fellowship
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Nephrology
  • Eligible for unrestricted Texas medical licensure
  • DEA registration and eligibility for hospital credentialing
  • Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills
