Summary
NCGA’s Director, Public Policy – Trade & Supply Chain is responsible for lobbying, building, and maintaining coalitions and relationships beneficial to the corn industry.

Reports to: NCGAVice President, Public Policy

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lobbying the Congress, the Administration and various departments and agencies on trade, biotechnology, and other critical supply chain issues.
  • Building and maintaining coalitions beneficial to the corn industry and NCGA policy, specifically the Agricultural Coalition for USMCA.
  • Keeping Action Team members, Corn Board members, officers and staff informed of developments regarding issues and NCGA efforts.
  • Acting as spokesperson for organization for issue areas to various audiences.
  • Supporting staff for NCGA Trade Transportation and Animal Agriculture Action Team and Production and Sustainability Action Team. Organize activities of grower team responsible for NCGA trade/market access efforts.
  • Collaborating with staff from U.S. Grains and Bioproducts Council to advance international market development and grower trade education.
  • Collaborate with Corn Board members, Action Team members, national and state staff, industry colleagues, and policymakers on input supply chain issues.
  • Managing outreach and bridge building with Embassies of trading partners.
  • Staff lead for MAIZALL international biotech initiative

Responsibilities

  • Work with service line, health system leadership, and frontline operations to identify, develop, and drive strategic and operational initiatives focused on improving performance in key priority areas that include operational efficiency, patient experience, safety/quality and financial management
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including DTP, HR, Finance, and Clinical Leadership to ensure collaborative execution of initiatives
  • Oversee all aspects of the initiative lifecycle from ideation, scoping, planning, and execution, sustainment and measurement
  • Apply change management principles to ensure successful adoption and sustainment of initiatives
  • Own and manage the full portfolio of strategic and operational initiatives
  • Partner with system leadership to define and scope strategic initiatives while also leading the hands-on execution required to implement the work
  • Work with health system and service line leadership to update and develop the overall strategic plan for the service line
  • Monitor performance of the service line's key operational, financial, quality, people and other performance metrics. Develop action plans when performance targets are not being met.
  • Measure and monitor success and return on investment of all strategic and operational initiatives
  • Provide regular updates on initiatives and overall performance to health system leadership, service line leadership and other key stakeholders
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence by engaging frontline staff, promoting idea generation, and embedding operational excellence principles into daily work
  • When appropriate, develop operational and/or business plans to support the successful achievement of departmental goals
  • Manage team members (directly or indirectly) ensuring appropriate approach and execution of strategic initiatives
  • Perform other responsibilities as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree required, Masters degree preferred
  • Professional certifications preferred (i.e. PMP, Lean, etc.)
  • 5-7 years of applicable professional experience related to healthcare operations, healthcare administration, management consulting, strategic planning, or a related field
  • Strong background in healthcare operations either in the ambulatory or inpatient setting including diagnostic and/or procedural areas
  • Exceptional project management skills
  • Experience in strategic planning and translating high-level goals into actionable initiatives
  • Ability to design and take initiatives from abstract to concrete, can think strategically but also execute operationally with an attention to detail
  • Ability to apply continuous improvement methodologies and recommendations in project work
  • Experience with data analysis, interpretation and metric performance monitoring
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with all levels of the organization

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $140,000.00 - $230,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Requirements



  • 7+ years software product consulting, product owner or business analysis experience with a proven track record of successfully releasing software products

  • 5+ years of experience as a software product manager or working with catastrophe modeling software applications, become expert at multiple features or specialize in models, GIS, geocoding, cyber, APIs, web services, models, underwriting or other specific industry or product areas.

  • Strong understanding of insurance and/or reinsurance industry use of catastrophe risk solutions and/or related features, including related exposure data, financial terms and catastrophe modeling workflows.

  • Demonstrated business analysis experience for software development including requirements management, use case development; experience with project management and Agile software development methodologies.

  • Ability to engage, drive, and support initiatives across multiple teams

  • Ability to think strategically and relate to customers, senior management, and project/technical team members

  • Strong analytical skills, quantitative and problem-solving ability

This position will also be responsible for the administration of data analytics systems under the ownership of the Data Discovery and Development team under the Stanley Manne Children’s Research Institute.**Job Duties:*** Design and implement ETL or other data integration solutions among EPIC Clarity, EPIC Clinical Data Warehouse, departmental repositories, research data, legacy and external repositories in the hospital’s hybrid and unified data platform.* Develops custom data and analytics solutions to collect, manage, and distribute data including database design and programming, interface design and programming, and application development and implementation.* Provides application implementation monitoring and support for existing and/or new applications, technical guidance, and serve as primary resolution point for all issues regarding assigned applications.* Installs, deploys and upgrades data analytics systems; maintains documentation, and performs routine systems administration maintenance activities.* Scope client requirements and create design documents.* Create project plans and project manage solutions.* Develop and test ETL or other data integration processes; provide code review for other team members.* Consult with Information Management staff regarding the interaction between computer software, hardware, and peripherals.* Respond to all requests with high standards for customer service.* Adhere to HIPAA and JCAHO compliance standards.* Perform job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.* Work with the Manager for Clinical Informatics to prioritize projects* Support the Data Discovery and Development team**Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:*** Bachelors Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.* 1-3 years of experience with database and data development.* 1-3 Coding experience in object orient language.* Knowledge\Experience with SQL Server Stack (SQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, PowerBI).* Ability to design, write and implement Office 365 or MS Teams applications.* Software Administration experience.* Working knowledge of Healthcare data and analytics (prefer Epic knowledge).* Data modeling design experience.
