JOB OVERVIEW

Serves as a Education Grant Policy Consultant and work as a part of a team to provide Facilitation, and Logistical Support for Adult Education Reform to the Department of Education Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education (OCTAE) | Division of Adult Education and Literacy (DAEL). The purpose of this task order is to provide subject matter expertise and logistical support to the Department of Education for the production of policy-related materials and a variety of meetings. Job Description

Manages various corporate tax matters for the organization.

  • Oversees the development of tax minimization strategies for the company.
  • Ensures federal and state tax filings are completed accurately and timely.
  • Some travel between buildings and out of town is required.

Qualifications

  • Professional-level experience gained through a public accounting firm.
  • Five years of supervisory experience or five years of equivalent military experience in grade E5 or above.
  • Previous experience in insurance and taxes with tax matters specifically related to insurance entities.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure.
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, decision-making and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of complex mathematical calculations and statistical concepts.
  • Knowledge of corporate income tax planning, research and compliance.
  • Demonstrated in-depth and current knowledge of tax law.
  • Demonstrated record of success in improving the approach/results of a corporate tax function.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to key business issues.
  • Ability to utilize strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to apply mature judgment and use sound decision-making skills.
  • Advanced word processing and spreadsheet applications software skills.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment: copier, computer, fax machine, phone, printer, etc.
